The Director, Supply Chain Design and Execution – Medical Distribution will report to the VP, Supply Chain Flow and Strategy – Medical Distribution. This position leads the Supply Chain Design and Execution team; focused on ensuring our distribution network can support future growth while driving best-in-class service at an optimal cost across the U.S. Medical supply chain. With approximately $1 Billion in U.S. supply chain costs, this individual will partner with Operations and Commercial teams and use data-driven analysis, strategic thinking, initiative ideation & prioritization, and project management skills to identify current supply chain capacity and capability gaps and deploy solutions to improve end-to-end flow of product through the supply chain.  This individual must have experience driving end-to-end solutions and managing analytical teams in one or more critical supply chain functions (e.g., transportation, distribution, replenishment, network design, Capital planning, deployment, etc.).  Ideal candidate will also have experience across different industries, allowing him/her to draw upon and implement best practices. Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead multiple strategic projects as well as a team of highly talented Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.

Key duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to: developing short and long range distribution network design strategy, capital planning and deployment, service level improvement, velocity / cycle time improvement, supplier and customer JPIs, cost optimization, and KPI/metric development. Accountabilities

• Provides thought leadership, informs supply chain strategy, and leads network design and capital deployment functions
• Identifies and removes friction points throughout the Medical supply chain, while driving new capabilities that allow for over-achievement of customer expectations and business objectives
• Design end-to-end supply chain product flow concepts that, where applicable, leverage the broader Cardinal Health volume, systems, scale, and partnerships, while providing the Medical Segment with consistently higher levels of service
• Multi-echelon capacity and throughput planning that optimizes service level and cost, given building capacities, product availability, labor/staffing schedule, transportation, customer delivery schedules, etc.
• Works to identify and unlock capacity and throughput constraints across the supply chain through short-term projects/initiatives and medium-term investments
• Leads 3-5 year capacity, capability, and capital strategy planning and deployment – ensuring Medical distribution can meet future demand, with optimized efficiencies across the value chain
• Present recommendations to address capability gaps and various supply chain constraints that will impact supply chain execution – developing and coordinating mitigation / resolution steps
• Leverages LEAN/Six Sigma concepts to reduce process waste and drives end-to-end cost reductions and process efficiencies
• Champions innovation, simplification, and standardization of current solution offerings, operating procedures, methodologies, and processes
   

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of proven supply chain experience across multiple industries and functions preferred
• 5-7 years of experience leading both analytical and operations teams preferred
• Experience leading development of large scale, 3-5 year strategy – communicating across key stakeholders and gaining buy-in
• LEAN/Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
• Working knowledge of Llamasoft suite of modeling tools preferred
• Ability to navigate a matrixed work environment, partnering with stakeholders across various functions to deliver operational and financial commitments

Position Summary

The Director of Operations reports to Vice President of Operations, and is responsible for motivating, developing, and leading a team of 6 direct reports and 100+ indirect reports.

The Director ensures all Cardinal Health operational, financial and safety procedures are followed, enabling relevant key financial performance indicators are met and operational goals are achieved. 

The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) in Groveport, Ohio, is approximately 300,000 square feet and picks, packs, and ships approximately $250 million in consumer products each month.  The Director role is essential to maintaining clear and frequent communications with all levels within the organization as well as with suppliers and customers.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position facilitates multiple functions designed to promote the optimal performance of Multi-Disciplinary Programs (MDPs) and functions as a dyad partner with the MDP physician leaders. This position will coordinate efforts across the system to optimize representation of all MDPs and support clinical, operational and research initiatives. This position is responsible for assisting with ensuring ongoing compliance and operational performance of clinical programs and projects. CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Provides support to the delivery of integrated patient care throughout delivery sites by assuring care is coordinated through collaboration of MDPs and processes are followed from diagnosis into survivorship. Ensures consistency in the structure and function of the assigned multiple disciplines. Reviews ongoing assessments of strengths and weaknesses of MDPs and identifies opportunities for growth.

2. In collaboration with Marketing, Communications, and Strategy will provide input into the development of educational and promotional materials for community medical education. Advises internal partners as to branding opportunities for the MDPs. Partners with Business Development to identify and assists as appropriate in the cultivation of community partnerships and helping to foster the growth of the programs. Oversees on-sight contacts to increase awareness of and referrals to target programs/services.

3. Collaborates with business and data analysts to report on key clinical, operational and quality metrics including data relevant to patient experience, access information and NPS. Assists patient relations and managers to address service complaints and facilitate service recovery.

4. Ensures funds provided by donations to MDPs through the Banner Health Foundation are utilized according to donor-intent; tracks and provides information and metrics requested by the Banner Health Foundation to meet donor reporting obligations.

5. Develops and maintains positive relationships with professionals, national and/or local associations and planning agencies. Serves on committees as an ambassador for the assigned multiple disciplines and represents the organization in task forces, community affairs and special project groups when necessary.

6. Aligns the goals of assigned MDPS with those of the Cancer Center. Helps solidify the “identity” of each of the assigned MDPs, helping define the breadth and depth of activity at the programmatic level. Maintains high level of engagement among MDP members.

7. In partnership with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston ensures communication and alignment of the assigned multiple disciplines with counterparts, facilitates communication and identifies opportunities for research collaboration between BMDA and MDA.   

8. Promotes engagement, productivity, and competencies of staff team members. Mentors staff and onboards new team members to provide value to our internal and external customers, critical thinking, and problem solving. Supports Program Leaders with the planning, conduct and documentation of team meetings.

9. Internal customers include but are not limited to employees, patients, physicians, physician leaders and other directors and administrators at the local, regional, and corporate levels. External customers include donors, practicing physicians, vendors, and a community, state, or regional area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge and skills typically attained through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, nursing or other health-related field.

Must demonstrate abilities normally attained with 5 or more years of experience in program development, management and evaluation in a healthcare environment. This position can require extensive travel and must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy. Requires excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Overview

The Associate Director of Administration for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Training Programs provides administrative, trainee, and academic support to three NIH-funded interdisciplinary T32 training programs – and to our multi-departmental Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience (IPN) PhD program, as well as post award administrative support of our training program activities and reporting requirements. As more training programs are funded in the future, the Associate Director of Administration will scale support services accordingly.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with recruitment and admissions; monitoring the academic progress of all program trainees; supporting alumni and career services outreach efforts; and organizing special events for program purposes.

As well, they serve as academic coordinator for the IPN PhD Program.

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to the Director of Graduate Studies for the Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience, the Associate Director of Administration for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Training Programs is also assigned to faculty program directors of each T32 training program to support the execution of the program training and reporting activities.

They foster programmatic collaborations across the T32 training programs with the goal of developing consensus programming to meet training requirements across programs at scale; and collaborates with career development, student, and postdoctoral affairs functions within the Graduate and Postdoctoral Training and Development Division of Biomedical Graduate Education to integrate T32 training program requirements into institution-level support services and activities.

As well, they work closely with the Associate Director for the Office of Training Grant Support and Postdoctoral Development (OTGSPD) - which provides pre-award support to faculty directors – by assisting the integration of pre-award and post-award work and data flow processes to streamline competitive and non-competitive T32 application submissions.

Further, they work closely with the Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) offices (admissions, academic affairs, student services, recruitment, career strategy, and communications), the Office of the University Registrar, and the Office of Global Services for day to day administration of the IPN program.

• Bachelor’s degree – preference for a graduate degree in a STEM field
• 3 or more years of relevant administrative experience – preference for biomedical academic settings
