Health Records Management

• Responsible for all facets of health records management for the facility
• Directs the operation of all personnel working within the following program areas: records analysis, release of information, health record files, incomplete records/physician liaison, data validation, health records QI processes, medical transcription, scanning, outpatient/inpatient Coding and other health information projects.
• Evaluates health records program and independently determines the nature of extent of problem areas.

Management of patient files

• Administers the health record program and assures that the facility fully accounts for workload in a timely, accurate manner
• Provides detailed technical expertise in health records science and other very technical aspects of health information

Revenue Support

• Serves on a multidisciplinary revenue team to ensure optimal processes are in place in order to facilitate maximum reimbursement opportunities.
• Provides expertise on billing· actions to improve collections. Recommends improvements in documentation systems used to provide patient care, to optimize VERA workload, third party reimbursement and to manage resources.

Clinical support role

• Advisor to various facility committees and management groups
• Provides technical guidance on health information issues such as documentation requirements1 coding, liability issues, advance directives, informed consent patient privacy and confidentiality, etc.
• Completes internal quality assurance reviews to ensure employee performance and that work meets quality and quantity standards.

Joint Commission

Records Management

Patient care delivery support

• Assures that an patients have a complete record of their medical care at the facility.
• Assures that such information is appropriately stored and readily available for the provision of medical services to the patients.

Automation

• Leads the automation of all health information at Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center.
• Works closely with Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) and clinical Informatics.
• Guide the automation of health record documentation, health record tracking, and physician incomplete record tracking.

Education

• Conducts training programs in health record science, medical terminology, coding, health record documentation, and medico-legal matters

External support role

• Provides direct support to Regional Counsel.
• Provides consultation services to members of the Counsel's staff in areas dealing with health information.

The Director, Supply Chain Design and Execution – Medical Distribution will report to the VP, Supply Chain Flow and Strategy – Medical Distribution. This position leads the Supply Chain Design and Execution team; focused on ensuring our distribution network can support future growth while driving best-in-class service at an optimal cost across the U.S. Medical supply chain. With approximately $1 Billion in U.S. supply chain costs, this individual will partner with Operations and Commercial teams and use data-driven analysis, strategic thinking, initiative ideation & prioritization, and project management skills to identify current supply chain capacity and capability gaps and deploy solutions to improve end-to-end flow of product through the supply chain.  This individual must have experience driving end-to-end solutions and managing analytical teams in one or more critical supply chain functions (e.g., transportation, distribution, replenishment, network design, Capital planning, deployment, etc.).  Ideal candidate will also have experience across different industries, allowing him/her to draw upon and implement best practices. Position Summary

The Director of Operations reports to Vice President of Operations, and is responsible for motivating, developing, and leading a team of 6 direct reports and 100+ indirect reports.

The Director ensures all Cardinal Health operational, financial and safety procedures are followed, enabling relevant key financial performance indicators are met and operational goals are achieved. 

The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) in Groveport, Ohio, is approximately 300,000 square feet and picks, packs, and ships approximately $250 million in consumer products each month.  The Director role is essential to maintaining clear and frequent communications with all levels within the organization as well as with suppliers and customers.

In this role you will provide day to day technical direction to engineers on the team to ensure adherence to long term strategy.  This director will also own the overall technical delivery and day to day operations & engineering for the future state cloud platform.  This includes building of new capabilities as well as operational support in adherence with Banner ITSM standards. This position will be Hybrid in Phoenix, AZ.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is the managerial professional who participates in the development of the strategic direction and objectives for information technology solutions. Evaluates and translates company plan and goals, forming department annual operating and capital budgets. Interacts with management across diverse areas and multiple states participating in the evaluation of company plan and initiatives to develop actionable projects and activities in support of the company’s infostructure and infrastructure.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Hires, trains, conducts performance evaluations, and supervises the workflow for designated staff. This includes initiating promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions. This includes establishing priorities, workloads, controls and work procedures, as well as determines resources needed.

2. Participates and may lead task forces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize service quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

3. Evaluates and participates in the development of the company strategic direction and plan and determines the high level design, direction, and coordination of information technology projects, and solutions. Ensures that department and company standards are implemented and consistently adhered to, ensuring current and future reliability and functionality.

4. Develops and oversees the department budget in conjunction with corporate goals and objectives. This position is accountable for meeting annual budgetary goals. Formulates multi-million dollar capital and operating budgets in support company’s strategic goals and mission. Assembles feasibility studies, request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP) and return on investment (ROI) calculations in defense of these budgets. Negotiates large scale contracts with vendors and monitors expenditures associated budgets.

5. Provides expertise and is the point person on behalf of information technology to JCAHO, Medicare, auditing firms and other regulatory agencies. Assures that departmental staff is trained and adheres to all local, state and federal regulations.

6. This position has company wide responsibility for a wide range of information technology projects, and hardware and software solutions. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has critical decision-making authority for projects, designs and solutions and works at peer level with management across diverse areas and multiple states. The incumbent develops content and participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide. Maintains and applies a broad expert knowledge of company policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in related field plus progressive experience in a healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience typically achieved in 10 years. Must demonstrate superb knowledge of information technology and healthcare. Needs considerable proven leadership experience in large scale project planning, reporting, and budgeting. Successful candidate will have skills and experience to recruit, mentor, motivate, evaluate, and retain an effective staff.

Requires exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires leadership skills with ability to lead, communicate, and interact across facilities and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, coach, mentor safety culture for Brunswick Integrated Manufacturing Center in Sykes Creek, Edgewater, and Flagler facilities. 
• Build a cohesive safety culture across the two facilities that is consistent with business goals and metrics. 
• Lead and develop the Security team at all campuses with proactive training and oversight. 
• Build and monitor our on site medical facilities and ensure we are supporting the operations teams.
• Develop and implement a proactive EH&S System, to support the required activities within the Safety Management Systems.
• Ensure plant safety by providing a safe environment for employees and actively supporting the departmental audit program Brunswick Safety Management System (SMS) procedures.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive continuous safety improvement initiatives, and to lead culturally transformative behavioral processes.
• Conducts inspections and audits; investigates incidents and injuries and drives accountability to resolve issues. Leads or facilitates problem solving teams to identify root cause for incidents.
• Management of all Worker’s Compensation activities in direct coordination with Brunswick’s work comp Director, ESIS case manager, and Human Resources, including Return to Work Program.
• Utilizing the AIC System, ensure implementation of corrective actions, SMS for EH&S policies, and best management practices.
• Conducts all EH&S training for facility personnel. Oversee monitoring activities, facilitate the Employee Safety Committee.
• Prepares and maintains all EH&S documentation and reporting deadlines, communicates with governmental agencies.
• Maintains the plant Safety Data Sheet records and provides all necessary hazard communications program updates and trainings.
• Responsible to ensure all Lock-Out/Tag-Out equipment instructions are current, and to ensure that all new or modified equipment that is installed are LOTO compliant and include equipment specific instructions.
• Monitors federal, state and municipal regulatory changes to ensure future compliance.  Serve as a primary liaison between this location and regulatory entities.
• Lead ergonomic projects aimed at reducing worker risk of injury by proactively identifying at risk operations. Partner with plant operations and engineering personnel to ensure work practices and/or equipment changes are integrated and sustained.
• Use Lean Six Sigma training to conduct root cause analysis and to solve problems through LSS methodologies/techniques.
• Oversees the EH&S review of new/modified processes/equipment/chemicals.
• Oversees proper handling and disposal of hazardous and solid waste.
• Oversees Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, Spill Prevention Plan, and Waste Water Plan.
• Provide analysis and interpretations of EH&S findings and prepare technical plans and reports as required.
• Review accident reports and, taking data from them, perform analytics and provide all relevant parties with information that will aid in reducing accidents and improving safety.
• Responsible for communicating all relevant EH&S information to company and facility management, as well as all facility employees.
• Develop annual training schedule; lead training programs.
• Develop and administer any safety incentive programs.
• Strategic thinker that can lay out a vision to be embraced by an organization. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in Engineering, Safety or related field.
• Professional certifications, CSP or CHCM preferred.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment required (preferably large facility, 400 employees or greater).
• Extensive understanding of all regulatory guidelines as they pertain to environmental, health and safety with proven experience leading an organization in adherence to the regulations.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with HRIS system and safety systems experience a plus.
• Demonstrated analytical skills that incorporate root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Must possess a business orientation and interactive skills to support the management team and function as a business partner.
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written).
• Group facilitation and presentation skills.
• Strong employee relations and change management skills.
• Demonstrated success in handling multiple priorities.
