The Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice program aims to transform care by integrating pharmacy roles within primary care to deliver patient-centered, coordinated services. This model aligns with national policies, such as the Five Year Forward View and GP Forward View, to leverage pharmacy expertise in helping patients stay safe, healthy, and out of hospitals, while reducing demands on general practices. Pharmacy technicians, while distinct from clinical pharmacists as they do not prescribe or make clinical decisions, play a crucial role in the primary care network (PCN) team by supporting medication management and optimizing medicine use under supervision. Their responsibilities include clinical, technical, and administrative tasks to enhance safe, cost-effective prescribing, improve repeat prescription processes, and minimize waste. Additionally, they promote medicines optimization, support adherence to NICE guidelines, and help the PCN meet national standards and therapeutic advancements, ultimately enhancing patient care quality. Key Responsibilities: Undertake patient facing and patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared decision-making conversations with patients. Carry out medicines optimisation tasks including effective medicine administration (e.g. checking inhaler technique), supporting medication reviews and medicines reconciliation. Where required, utilise consultation skills to work in partnership with patients to ensure they use their medicines effectively. Provide expertise to address both the public health and social care needs of patients, including lifestyle advice, service information, and help in tackling local health inequalities. Manage shared care protocols and liaise with Clinical Pharmacists for more complex patients. Support the PCN multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient medicines optimisation processes are being followed. Essential qualifications and experience: Experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy. Registered as a pharmacy professional with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Meets GPhC qualification and training standards required for pharmacy technician registration. Enrolled in, pursuing, or qualified from an approved training program, such as the Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP) or Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes (MOCH) Demonstrates evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD) Skilled in analyzing and interpreting prescribing data. Listen actively and respond appropriately to information given. Take part in and leads shift handovers ensuring relevant detail is communicated to the team. Management/organisation Maintain an age and development appropriate environment that promotes safety, security and optimal health for the child and his family. Undertake a designated link nurse role for the clinical area as required. Take part in mandatory audit as designated by Ward Manager, e.g. Essence of Care. Take part in Unit meetings. Demonstrate prudent use of resources in (stores, disposable equipment). Demonstrate an awareness of resource procurement for the children in their care. Take part in effective partnership working to facilitate timely transfers and discharges of children in accordance with UHSussex policy. Liase effectively with colleagues, the multi disciplinary team and other departments to enable timely management of patient throughput. Prioritise care and delegate duties to other staff as appropriate. Lead the shift on a regular basis and in the absence of a more senior nurse. An autonomous responsibility to manage a full clerical administrative and secretarial service to the Consultants and members of the clinic teams. Time management and prioritising workloads are essential requirements. To be responsible for dealing with telephone calls from parents/carers/guardians, medical staff, allied healthcare professionals and departments within the Sussex Eye Hospital, UH Sussex NHS Trust and other third party healthcare providers. Using tact, diplomacy, reassurance and discretion, exchange verbal and written information with parents/carers/guardians, medical staff, allied healthcare professionals and departments regarding future management. To assess the nature and urgency of all telephone calls, taking detailed messages and ensuring that the information is passed to the relevant personnel and dealt with at the earliest opportunity. To maintain office filing systems and storage of information to meet the needs of the service including uploading documents to Panda. To use UH Sussex Trust Patient Administration System (Careflow) for the retrieval/tracking of patient information/medical records. Provide a complete secretarial service transcribing author dictation utilising a digital dictation voice recognition system. Undertake filing, sending and receiving emails and composition of letters as required. To be efficient in the use of email, word and excel. There will also be the requirement to use the Trust and departmental database for which training will be given. Comply explicitly with the Trust policies and procedures. You will be responsible for the delivery of systemic family psychotherapy within the service, providing systemic assessments and interventions to young people who have been admitted to the ward and their families or support systems. You will support staff development in the service, and will take on a role in training, consultations and staff support, as well as providing systemic input into the multidisciplinary team.

You will receive regular clinical and professional supervision and will be supported to continue developing your clinical and leadership skills as part of your ongoing career development. You will join a proactive and enthusiastic Therapies Team, as well as having access to a strong network of CAMHS psychological therapists across Elysium Healthcare. You will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service users caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, supporting families and care plans and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment within CAMHS Eating Disorder services.

As a Systematic Family Therapist, you will be:

• Providing highly-skilled systemic interventions for the families of young people with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, learning difficulties and/or developmental problems.
• Providing in-depth risk-assessments of young people who are at risk to themselves and to be able to formulate both short-term and long-term crisis planning.
• Providing evidence-based and formulation-driven systemic perspectives to multidisciplinary risk management, care planning and decision-making.
• Managing a complex caseload as the family therapist working within a multidisciplinary team, as well as facilitating groups where appropriate, such as carer support groups.
• Monitoring clinical progress through regular reviews of systemic treatment.
• Engaging and working with young people with a range of mental health needs and developmental difficulties, drawing upon your wealth of theoretical and practical knowledge.
• Supporting staff development through the provision of training, consultation, formulation meetings and reflective practice sessions.
• Contributing to service developments within the Therapies Team and wider service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Completed a Qualifying course in Systemic Psychotherapy at Master’s or doctorate level, accredited by the AFT
• Registration with UKCP
• Experience working with adolescents and their families presenting with complex mental health needs, high-risk behaviours and neurodevelopmental conditions in a CAMHS setting.
