The EKHUFT Occupational Health (OH) team is responsible for the OH service delivery for all EKHUFT employees and contracted services, including a number of external organisations of other NHS, small and medium-sized business enterprises.

The Oral and Maxillofacial department is accommodated in modern premises and the Unit provides a comprehensive service for medical and surgical problems involving the mouth, jaws, face, neck and supporting structures. It provides a service for maxillofacial trauma, head and neck oncology and its reconstruction, facial deformity, temporomandibular joint surgery, implantology dentoalveolar surgery. The Unit has an active interest in undergraduate and postgraduate education and is involved in clinical research. Particular interest has been taken in supporting the development of all staff and good links and exchanges of trainees from other countries have been developed as a result.

The Unit works in close co-operation with its other medical and dental colleagues.

The Anaesthetic Department at the William Harvey Hospital is looking to recruit a dynamic and conscientious individual to join our team of dedicated clinicians.
William Harvey Hospital is a large district general hospital providing care for the diverse population across East Kent. The hospital provides surgical services for the regional head and neck cancer service, colorectal cancer and other specialties, including gynae, ENT, trauma surgery, breast, paediatric and ophthalmology. Reporting to the Outpatients Manager, the successful Registered Nurse will be required to provide the highest standard of individualised patient care as part of the clinical team, including:

o Ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during their visit/admission to the hospital.
o Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance in line with hospital policies, national guidelines and best practice standards.


HOURS: Mon to Fri, shifts between 07:30 and 20:30. Occasional requirement to work Saturdays.

o Registered Nurse with NMC


EXPERIENCE

o Clinical nursing experience in outpatients or clinic environment
o Proven ability to work independently and within a team


SKILLS

o Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice.
o Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage.
o Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills
o Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems
o Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
o Excellent customer service skills


DESIRABLES

o Enthusiasm for cross functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
o Experience in the private sector
o Relevant clinical skills in addition to assist with minor procedures
