About NELFTs Children & Young Peoples Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) NELFTs CYPMHS is for anybody aged between 0-18, living in Kent and is free at the point of entry. The service is also for young people with special educational needs (SEN) up to the age of 25. The CAMHS Tier II and Tier III services no longer exist, replaced with an integrated CYPMHS. Any young person experiencing emotional wellbeing or mental health problems, (or any parent, guardian, professional or teacher of a child who is experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties), may access our service. Structure of Children & Young Peoples Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) There is one Childrens Single Point of Access (SPA), a Neurodevelopmental & Learning Disabilities Service, a dedicated crisis team and inpatient service based in Staplehurst and eight Locality Teams. These are located across Medway, Dartford, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, South Kent (Folkestone & Dover), Thanet, Swale, Canterbury and Ashford. What difficulties can be referred to the service? Mood and anxiety disorders Behavioural and conduct disorders Emerging personality and attachment disorders Psychotic disorders Deliberate self-harm and suicidal ideation Substance misuse with co-existing mental health needs (dual diagnosis) Autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) - with co-occurring mental health needs Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) - with co-occurring mental health needs Neurodevelopmental disorders Prolonged bereavement problems All referrals to the service are assessed using a care pathways approach, developed in line with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance criteria (NICE) and based on a best practice model of treatment. Locality Team in Children & Young Peoples Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) The aim of our CYPMHS is to respond earlier to children and young peoples needs in order to help prevent, reduce or delay the need for more specialist interventions. This transformation of children and young peoples mental health services has a clinical focus, integrated with local authorities to deliver a long term collaborative approach to planning and delivering services. CYPMHS focuses on emotional wellbeing as well as mental health and includes access to self-help tools and services based in schools and the community. The CAMHS Tier II and Tier III service no longer exist, replaced with an integrated CYPMHS. Training and support is available to other professionals and agencies. We are creating a modern service that fits with childrens lives in a way that best suits them. Key new features include a Childrens Single Point of Access (SPA) into the service, clear early signposting, and use of digital channels such as Big White Wall to access support and services. Each locality team have care pathways. Each care pathway is clinically led, with care pathway leads operationally managing all CYPMHS practitioners working in that care pathway. With the support of the team manager, care pathway leads are responsible for assessment, treatment and systematic outcome measurement in that care pathway. CYPMHS multi-disciplinary pathway workers and mental health workers may work across more than one care pathway in a locality team. Care pathways include; Mood and anxiety Complex Behavioural and conduct Neurodevelopmental & Learning Disability Care pathway leads and practitioners ensure that a high quality, timely, accessible and evidence-based service is available to all children and young people who need it. About the role:

The Role
An experienced nurse will be required to be involved in the delivery of Level 3 T-Level qualifications in Health qualification. You will be leading on the clinical practice aspect and delivering science-based units.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a Nursing degree and have a minimum of 5 years industrial experience; it is desirable to hold a full teaching qualification or be working towards the teaching qualification, however for anyone new to teaching we can provide the training required. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others. You’ll also have exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.

- You will have recent experience of dealing with student nurses either in a Higher Education Institution or in clinical practice.
- Have a good understanding of A/Level science.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse, to support the Emergency Department.

The role of the Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse is vital to the safe running of an ED. You will be passionate about ED nursing, be forward thinking, with a can-do attitude.

You will also have excellent leadership and communication skills. You will need to have high standards for ensuring patients receive quality care and have a good experience whilst in the ED.

We are looking for enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team at York on the Coronary Care Unit.

CCU has 8 monitored beds and an extensive cardiac telemetry service which continuously remotely monitors patients throughout the hospital.

The nursing team includes a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Cardiac Outreach Service, receiving referrals for patients in ED or throughout the hospital. The cardiac outreach nurse will review and clinically assess patients with chest pain, ST elevation, raised troponin, arrhythmias and heart blocks.

We provide nurse led cardioversion, diagnoses of STEMI and referral / transfer to a centre for PPCI, thrombolysis, emergency pacing and non-invasive ventilation. We also attend all crash calls on site and are able to lead a cardiac arrest.

You will be expected to deliver high standards of care, following best practice, protocols & pathways. You should have a keen interest in nursing cardiology patients in an acute unit, with a commitment to learn & develop your skills.

It is desirable that you have completed the ILS course and an ECG course, but essential that you have at least completed a BLS.
• Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
• Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
• Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
• Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
• Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
• Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
