The Community Living Center (CLC) Attending Physician leads the interdisciplinary team in caring for Veterans during their stay in the CLC. The physician will work with APRNs and PAs to provide direct patient care, as well as coordinate care with consultants for specialty care. The physician will also provide education on disease process, medications, and care needs to Veterans, families and staff in addition to participate in screening Veterans for CLC admission, tracking outcomes, and monitoring and reporting trends to improve quality of care in the CLC.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise and instruct Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Students, Residents or Geriatric Fellows as needed in an Interdisciplinary Team setting.
• Serve as a resource for Veterans, families, and staff for issues related to their stay in the CLC.
• Perform Histories, examinations, assessments and plans for CLC residents coordinating all evaluations, diagnostic testing, clinical follow up, and care coordination.
• Lead the CLC Team in the day to day management of Veterans in the CLC.
• Promote an atmosphere of efficiency and accuracy in the timeliness of submission of completed documents.
• Participate in screening of veterans and completion of consults for the CLC.
• Participate in call schedule for telephonic coverage for urgent needs of veterans in the CLC after administrative hours.
• Participate in other clinical duties as assigned by the ACOS for Geriatrics & Extended Care.

The VA SORCC Staff Dentist serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard, corrective, restorative, or preventative measures. This position reports to the Service Chief, Dental, and works with other staff, including dentists, hygienists, and assistants, in a positive and collaborative work setting with the goal of providing excellent dental care to Veterans.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Evaluations, prophylaxis, radiographs, dental health education, fluoride treatments, sealants, composite and amalgam restorations, crowns, extractions, some endodontic and simple periodontal procedures.
• Staff dentist will provide clinical guidance including patient treatment, four-handed dentistry, infection control, OSHA guidelines, x-rays and oral health education, knowledge and application of HIPPA/security regulations, and in compliance with VHA policy.
• Meets with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performs regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establishes a plan for better dental hygiene

Various exciting opportunities available for positions as Registered Nurse (RN) - Renal Dialysis: Haemodialysis to administer home dialysis treatment in Sydney as well as Melbourne area.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

delivering direct and comprehensive dialysis nursing care and individual case management to patients or clients within a home setting;
being responsible for planning and coordinating services, including those of other disciplines or agencies, to individual patients or clients within a home setting;
providing education, counselling and group work services orientated towards the promotion of health status improvement of patients and clients within a home setting;
providing support, direction and education to newer or less experienced staff;
participating in or assisting in the management of action research projects, and participating in quality assurance programs and policy development within a home setting.

Applicants must have:

Experience using Fresenius (4008/5008) and/or Gambro machinery. On-the-job training available to up-skill staff
Bachelor level Degree is nursing and minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
Recent clinical experience in haemodialysis in a hospital/clinical environment
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and Criminal Record Check clearance certificates
Updated vaccination/immunisation record
Demonstrated ability to plan and co-ordinate patient care & competency in clinical problem solving
Understanding & demonstrated participation of quality improvement processes/initiatives
Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication and ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data.
Current ALS and/or BLS certification essential.
