Responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant:

· To care for and support children with a person-centred approach within their children’s home, and to enable the children you support to access the community.

· To promote independence

· Assistance with personal care may be required

· Administration of medication once training, and a medication competency is complete

· Assistance with food preparation

· Assistance with moving and handling for those with limited abilities once training is complete

· Participate in domestic and household tasks such as cooking and cleaning

· Participate in accessing the community to complete activities

· Getting to know your every child you support. Discovering their interests, needs and providing mentoring

· Create a safe and caring environment which meets the children’s needs. 

· Work in accordance with relevant Company Policies and Procedures. 

· Communicate with parents and relevant professionals
