This is an exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified or experienced nurse to develop their career within the field of Cardiology delivering the highest quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional cardiac procedures.

The post holder will learn the skills to enable them to work on Ward 1 caring for patients pre and post cardiac interventional procedures, in the Cardiac Catheter Lab assisting with cardiac interventional procedures, in the Cardiac Pre-Op Clinic and in the Dobutamine Stress Echo Clinic.
The successful candidate would be expected to participate in the 24/7 out of hours on call service and be prepared to work flexible shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
Using your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for patients pre and post procedure on the ward. You will undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence-based practice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet patients’ needs.
You will rotate to the Cardiac Catheter Lab where you will complete competencies to enable you to assist in interventional procedures.
You will have the opportunity to rotate to Cardiac Pre-Op Clinic and Dobutamine Stress Echo Clinic to complete competencies in nurse led consent and DSE.
You will display excellent communication skills to deliver sensitive information, lifestyle advice and post procedure care.
You will play a key role in the education, development, supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff.
You will support the department in the achievement of all clinical governance requirements and participate in audit reviews.
You will conduct yourself professionally within the standards and framework provided by the NMC Codes of Professional Conduct.
You will mainly work Monday-Friday between the hours of 08:00-20:45, but may be required to work weekends and bank holidays.
You will be required to take part in a 24/7 on-call rota.
You will be expected to be a team player, reliable, have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage your own workload in a fast-paced environment,

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months.Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
