The post holder will have a sound understanding of wound healing and the issues that may prevent wounds from healing. The post holder will have a sound understanding of pressure ulcer prevention and management in the acute care setting. The post holder will have wound management experience including active participation in tissue viability link groups/networks. Assist in the assessment of clinical practice in the area of tissue viability across the organisation. Undertake ongoing wound assessment taking into account multiple aetiologies andusing current evidence. Collate statistical data relevant to Tissue viability Work will be supervised by the Senior Sister for Tissue Viability The post holder will prioritise and plan their individual workload as allocated by the triaging Tissue Viability Nurse. The post holder will instruct the plan of care for individual patients in relation to their wound management plan, in consultation with the Tissue Viability Senior Nurse. Standard keyboard skills, use of presentation, projection/multi-media equipment and e learning resources.
