Job description This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced therapist who understands the complexities of children and young people's needs and the meaningful input equine and other animals can have in our personal development and recovery. Actual animal or horse experience is not essential, however this would be strongly beneficial. We are looking for someone experienced in working with children and young people with a variety of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, including additional needs. Job Requirement The role holder will provide a full range of therapy services, including utilising Equine and/or Animal Assisted Therapy, working with a varied client base of children and young people (training on integration of animals can be provided, previous animal/horse experience is not essential). The role holder will assess, evaluate and provide appropriate therapeutic goal orientated intervention, incorporating animals (horses or other animals) to clients, in order to support the client to progress therapeutic goals. The role holder will also provide clinic supervision where appropriate and clinical oversight of children and young people who come to the provision.
Skills, Experience and QualificationProfessional registration with a national body essential (EHCP, BACP, UKCP etc) Degree in a relevant field such as Art or Play Therapy/Occupational Therapy/Social Work/Psychology and/or other relevant field with added practice experience or post qualifying training At least 3 years post graduate work experience with clients providing counselling or therapeutic intervention Experience of working with mental health. Qualified to use a range of clinical assessment tools is essential. Qualifications and experience in AAT or Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is desirable Membership or certification from international or nationally recognised qualification in the area of AAT/EAP such as EAGALA or Path International or other international professional body will be highly regarded. Main duties and responsibilities Clinical accept referrals within agreed protocols within the service assess clients for suitability to CBT formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programs for clients educate and involve family members and others in therapy as necessary comparing CBT formulations with sensitivity and easily understood language complete data agreed activity contact relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient attend multidisciplinary meetings relating to referrals for clients and treatment where appropriate complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service keep clear records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols work closely with other members of the service ensuring appropriate step up and stepped down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process and where appropriate liaise with employment advisers Managerial arrange and monitor work schedules for all members of step two service staff in order to provide a professional service agree annual leave arrangements ensuring service continuity negotiate and agree individual continuing professional development plans in consultation with the service CPP committee participate in the annual appraisal of staff within step 2 service participate in management meetings and liaise with other service staff to ensure service coherence participate in management supervision advise on resource allocation for ensuring effective service functioning Training and Supervision arrange and monitor supervision schedules for all members of step two service in order to provide professional service delivery participate in the supervision of staff within the service contribute to the teaching and training of mental health professionals and other staff as appropriate Partnership participate in partnership activities in line with service objectives with key partners Research Maintain a research orientation in line with the service strategy and participate in service research activity undertaken Professional ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer standards, professional and accrediting bodies (e.g., BPS, UKCP, BABCP) and keep up-to-date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the Department of Health and Care ensure the client confidentiality is protected at all times be aware of, and keep up-to-date with advances in the sphere of CBT ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with service supervisor on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development attend clinical supervision on a regular basis as agreed with the service supervisor participate in individual performance review and deliver agreed objectives keep up to date records in relation to continuous professional development and ensure personal development plan maintains up-to-date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments attend relevant conferences/workshops in line with identified professional objectives in line ensure knowledge of, and compliance with service information governance processes maintain knowledge of, and compliance with service safeguarding policies and procedures General contribute to the development of best practice within the service maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures in relation to mental health and primary care services all employers have a duty and responsibility for their own health and safety in the health and safety colleagues, patients and the general public all employers have a responsibility in a legal obligation to ensure that information processed the bus service users and staff to get accurate confidential secure and in line with the general data protection regulation (2018) and other service policies and procedures it is the responsibility of all staff that they do not abuse their official position on personal gain, to seek pecuniary advantage from external organisations or other interests in the course of their official duties this job description does not provide an exhaustive list of duties and may be reviewed in conjunction with the post holder in light of service development

Whilst on probation all contracts will be a minimum of 24 gym floor hours, this is to ensure you earn a guaranteed minimum salary. Your earning will increase as you establish your PT clients and improve your earning potential. PT sessions have a sliding scale, the more you deliver the more your take home earning potential is.
