Service Manager Responsibilities You will provide effective and innovative leadership, ensuring clear direction concerning service improvement and effective utilisation of resources; leading and managing the assessment of complex operational issues and challenges that face the service. The post offered is that of Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry (10PA), to join the excellent MDT on Thames Ward. This is one of three mixed gender adult psychiatric wards located within the Dennis Scott Unit, Edgware Community Hospital. Thames ward is embedded within the Hospital Services division. Rotational Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist – Whipps Cross Hospital

Barts Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team.

This band 5 rotation covers the following specialities:

· Inpatient acute wards (0.6 WTE) and inpatient stroke unit (0.4 WTE)

· Inpatient acute wards, including the intensive care unit (ICU) if required

This post holder will develop knowledge and skills in the assessment, management and rehabilitation of patients with acquired communication and/ or swallowing difficulties, as a result of stroke and/ or acquired medical conditions, across the acute inpatient wards and ICU.

This post will provide a newly qualified SLT with regular 1:1 supervision, joint clinical sessions, in-house training and peer supervision. There are also excellent CPD opportunities within the SLT service, and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team. For further details contact:

The post holder will work as a member of the Speech & Language Therapy Department (SLT) at Whipps Cross Hospital. The successful candidate will commence in a split role across acute and inpatient stroke unit and then rotate into a full time acute role; providing a service to adults with acquired communication, swallowing and cognitive impairment following a stroke and/or those associated with a variety of acute and chronic disorders (neurological, respiratory, and other medical conditions).

The post holder will receive regular supervision by a senior Speech & Language Therapist and will be supported to develop their skills in assessment, treatment and management of swallowing and communication disorders. The post holder will work as part of the wider therapy team and support with service developments along designated clinical pathways. The post holder may have opportunities to support band 3 staff and student speech and language therapists on their placements, if appropriate

We are seeking to recruit a trust doctor in Clinical Immunology. This is an opportunity to gain experience in clinical Immunology and allergy within a world class team specialising in the diagnosis and management of complex immunological disorders.

The post holder will join an enthusiastic cohesive team of four medical consultants, two Immunology/Allergy trainees and three nurse specialists, there will also be an opportunity to gain experience in allergy within the local allergy services. The post is for 6 months in the first instance with potential extension.

The Department of Immunology at Barts Health NHS Trust is sited at the state-of-the-art Pathology and Pharmacy building at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapeland provides diagnostic service with a fully comprehensive range of hospital departments providing elective and acute care including paediatrics, rheumatology, haematology, nephrology, dermatology, ENT, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases, GUM/HIV.

Outpatient Immunology clinics and MDTs, the Immunology clinic is based at the Royal London Hospital site (RLH) and potentially allergy experience (St Barts hospital, Homerton Hospital)
Day ward patient reviews: assessment and management of a wide range of patients with immunological diseases
Inpatient ward rounds to review Immunology patients and ward referrals
Clinical liaison and advice to patients and other specialties
Opportunity to take part in service development, audit and quality improvement projects, ongoing departmental research
Opportunity to obtain laboratory experience within the Immunology laboratory
Opportunity to participate in specialist medicine on call, supported by medical registrar and on-call consultant, depending on previous experience
