Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Substation Inspector to join their team based in Liverpool on a contract basis (12-month contract, with the chance of the role going permanent). Purpose
The role of Substation Inspector sits within the SP Manweb function of SP Energy Networks reporting to the Team Leader. You will be responsible for ensuring Distribution sub-stations and low voltage assets are inspected for defects by carrying out inspection in accordance with sub-station inspection policy and completing minor remedial works onsite.
Responsibilities
• Contribute as an effective member of the District team
• Undertake routine inspection in accordance with inspection programme and inspection checklist e.g. fences, compound, electrical apparatus, civil works etc.
• Take remedial action on certain defects
• Take readings from sub-station equipment
• Ensure internal company systems are updated in a timely manner with findings from inspections
• Undertake general tidying work to substations
• Strive to eliminate customer complaints as an on-site representative of the company
Skills and Requirements
• Basic knowledge of electrical assets
• EN1 Authorisation at LV, 11kV, 33kV.
• Valid UK Driving Licence
• Basic level of IT skills
