Your new role
My client is recruiting for a Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant to join their growing team, with the potential to base yourself at any of their U.K. offices (Belfast, Cardiff, Carlisle, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forres, Glasgow, Inverness, Leicester or Manchester).
You will primarily work from home in the short term, unless this is unavailable to you. You will be provided with all IT equipment and software/services require to facilitate your efficient home working. You will coordinate the delivery of environmental permitting projects across the UK, and will have experience in one or more of the following preferably in a consultancy role; environmental permit applications and variations, environmental impact assessment using appropriate tools e.g. D1 Calculations, H1 Software Tool, SCAIL, ADMS and BAT.
What you'll need to succeed

• You will posses an Honours or Masters Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering, the physical sciences, or similar, and

• Professional chartership(s) would be viewed favourably.
• Experience with Environmental permit (e.g. Industrial Emissions Directive, via PPC/EPR/IPC) applications and variations.

Within their infrastructure and environment, team of 20 staff, you'll be working with truly multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions to complex ecological issues arising across various developments such as residential, commercial, industrial, sports facilities, logistics parks, theme parks, international developments.

Your new role
You will be focussing on both survey and desk-based work for a variety of clients. Responsibilities will include:

• Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (habitat surveys and condition assessments).
• Biodiversity Impact Assessments.

• Ecological Impact Assessments and further detailed assessments.

Your new role
Based within the advisory team, you will develop and nurture your own client accounts and oversee delivery, providing environmental guidance and support for them to maintain compliance with legislation and enhance their environmental performance. This will include carrying out audits, applying for permits and licenses, advising on legislation, producing environmental procedures and documentation, and often act as the client's Environmental Manager.
Experience Required:

• Implementing, maintaining and/or auditing Environmental Management Systems to ISO14001 standards
• Environmental permitting, including preparing and submitting applications to the regulatory bodies
• Planning applications, preparing environmental statements for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
