Your new role
You will play a pivotal role in leading the Quality Team. Your main focus will be to ensure product and process quality, engaging with customers and suppliers, driving continuous improvement and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.

• Working alongside the management team, managing and maintaining the quality management system in line with ISO9001
• Providing leadership to the quality team

* Possess first-class, up-to-date payroll knowledge.

Your new company
You will be working for a long-standing, supported living organisation who pride themselves on the valuable support they offer their residents. You will be supporting those with learning disabilities and complex needs within a residential service with the support of the registered manager and experienced staff teams.

Your new role
Based in Port Talbot, you will assist the manager of their residential service to provide excellent person-centred care to their residents. At this service, there are 4 residents with complex needs and learning disabilities, including wheelchair users, epilepsy and catheters. You will be responsible for good monitoring practices, care plans, rota support and general day-to-day activities, to name a few.
It is a lively service, where the residents enjoy coffee mornings, theatre trips, bikeability and themed weekends, so there is always something to do.
Shifts are set out on a rota, so you must be available Monday to Sunday, and across days, nights and sleepins. You can choose to do longer shifts and fewer days, or liaise with the manager to do shorter shifts over more days, whatever would work best for your lifestyle. You will always be working with a minimum of 2 support workers, and your manager.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £38,000
Working hours: Full time DAYS Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm


Qualification:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in FMG Manufacturing
• HNC in Mechanical Engineering

Experience/ Knowledge:

• Continuous improvement and development of tooling
• Control of raw materials
• Machine set-up and improvements
• Quality assurance procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of SMED
• Managing and developing a team of 20 operators/ team leaders

Skills:

• Analytical problem-solving skills
• IT skills, including microsoft word, excel etc
• Good written and oral communication skills, including report writing
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Excellent mechanical skills and knowledge
• Innovative ideas and implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Selecting and sourcing parts and equipment
• Organising planned maintenance tasks through PPM and TPM's
• Coaching and mentoring - Support training through professional careers
• Building Rapport with employees, customers and suppliers
• Presenting findings to senior management
• Practices of 5S
• Supervising Contractors
• Involvement in trials of new products and materials
• Reporting directly with the production manager
• Working as part of a team of 4 section leaders

The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader. This an exciting opportunity to join an Internationally recognised Manufacturer in the Nutritional Supplement Industry.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £13.64ph with a 10% shift allowance on afternoon shifts (£15ph)
Hours of work: Full time, two shifts, Monday to Friday. Rotating between Mornings 6am - 2pm and Afternoons 2pm - 10pm (please note that on rare occasions, you may be asked to work a night shift)

Role Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:

• Overall Management responsibilities for Health & Safety in their designated areas
• Ensure operators are working in a risk free environment, wearing the correct PPE and are compliant in company H & S requirements
• Review risk assessments & SOP's to ensure they are up to date, user friendly and contain the correct information/ settings
• Report & investigate incidents / accidents and follow up with a full report within 24hrs

Quality/ Technical:

• Actively promote a "right first time" environment
• Ensure food safety is followed in the production of products
• Ensure area standards are set and maintained
• Ensure Quality samples represent against the final production requirement with sign off and double sign off from another team member
• Assist in NC/CAPA investigations as required
• Ensure that all paperwork is correctly filled out in a timely manner & audit to ensure right first time
• Own responsibility of line clearance for manufacturing/packaging as per SOP372

Staff development:

• Coaching staff and development of teams and to review progress
• Identify training needed for self and team

Continuous improvement:

• Support and guide team to ensure improvements are delivered
• Identify potential areas of improvement by reviewing the top 3 trends weekly with SM and identifying an action plan to improve
• Effectively measure changeovers to identify improvements (Circa 20%)
• Improve productivity trends by 10%

Behaviours:

• Ensures the correct procedures are followed to set up, operate and clean down machines to ensure efficient running of machines and minimal downtime
• Manage team members to ensure the greatest output and efficiency is achieved
• Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices at all times.
• Supports colleagues to ensure team success / listen to your team

Communications:

• Monitor and accurately complete shift reports (H&S issues, daily performance, scrap, breakdown, quality issue) and report to management
• Prepare and conduct a comprehensive handover with the oncoming shift to eliminate any unnecessary downtime between shifts
• Communicates shortage issues accurately and timely
• Delivers Daily briefing to team

Experience required:

• Previous experience within a similar role / Ideally manufacturing background
• Previous knowledge of Clean Room environments (desirable)
• Working in the Food / Pharmaceutical industries for at least 2 years (desirable)
