As a Residential worker, you will be working for the Ministry of Justice to keep the Approved Premises safe and secure for other members of staff and those currently living there.

Your new role
You will be part of a team providing 24-hour cover within the Approved Premises. This will include both security and care duties. You will be expected to assist in the well-being and supervision of residents, maintaining discipline and adherence to AP rules, whilst remaining social and understanding towards those housed in the AP. This post will involve substantial out of hours work, both nights and weekends.
Duties will include:
* Undertake regular inspections of the building, including cellars and grounds throughout the period of duty, recording any occurrences/damage or defects, and monitor CCTV equipment
* Maintain an active presence and regularly engage with residents in a pro-social manner. * Contribute towards the protection of residents, such as assisting with risk assessments
* Ensure that the AP is locked and secure during the curfew period. Confirm the presence and well-being of all residents overnight.
* Supervise residents' meals, follow prescribed medication procedures including the issuing of medication to residents and both weekly and nightly audit of medication sheets, maintain hostel records and files as required, including data entry.
* Deal with visitors and telephone calls, and monitor the work of visiting contractors in accordance with health and safety.
* You will work 37 hours per week, including unsocial hours and weekends.

Hourly rate: 18.32 p/h (inclusive of holiday)
Weekday overtime: 20. 29 p/h (inclusive of holiday)
Weekend overtime: 26.70 p/h (inclusive of holiday)

Previous experience in a similar field, security and care work will be valuable. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be subject to full HMPPS clearance and an enhanced DBS.

Working environment: Hybrid (2 days working from home, 3 days on site)

The opportunity
You will be expected to deliver further features/fixes and improvements to the PalTrak solution and on occasion other legacy UK bespoke applications.You will work with the Product Owner and project team, to continually evolve the strategy and direction for the PalTrak solution.You will support the operations team in dealing with issues raised by the users and/or automated monitoring.An opportunity to work within a small team.Travel to other plants in order to provide training on the solution, testing of your developments and for discussions with stakeholders.

- Good communication skills are essential as part of the planning process involves regular close contact with business stakeholders at all.
- A good understanding of Agile Development methodology.
- An advanced level of programming techniques (C#, DotNet Core, RFID, Microsoft Xamarin, MS Azure, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL)
- The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Existing project management experience.
- Self-motivated for continuous learning opportunities.
- Must be experienced in analytical and problem-solving skills
- Cooperation skills and negotiation power.
- Must have a Full UK driving licence.

Compensation
We offer a competitive hourly wage plus an annual performance-related bonus. You will receive a generous annual leave of up to 35 days, which is inclusive of bank holidays. We offer hybrid working where employees split their time between working remotely (often from home) and working in the office.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Demonstrable experience of programme and project delivery aligned to medium-high project complexity and application.

• Professional qualification in Project Management and Programme Management as a minimum APM PFQ or equivalent, Project Controls or a relevant degree in a related field
• Demonstrates leadership by providing vision, motivation, and inspiration, setting high standards, leading by example, and holding the Integrated Project Teams to account.
• Experienced with how projects and programmes are delivered in the nuclear sector, including experience in the development of business cases aligned to government green book standards.
• Ability to demonstrate competence/experience of all Project Delivery Fundamentals.

Desired skills:

• IPA Government Gateway review assurance team member or equivalent
• Experience in Programme and Project Audits
• Strong understanding of Government Project Delivery Practices
• Professional Qualification in Project Management as a minimum PMQ and/or Programme Qualification MSP or international equivalent.
• Strong presentation qualities and confidence in presenting to large audiences.
