As an Experienced CNC Turning Machine Setter/Operator within the turning section

duties will include:

• Setting, and operating machines using proven programs

• Setting, and operating machines to prove new programs

• Editing of programs

• Interpretation of drawings and 3D digital files

• Produce prototypes / small production runs

• Carry out inspection of your work (CMM and Manual)

• Maintain clean and tidy stations

• Produce work of a high standard by adhering to quality standards to ensure that product is produced to agreed specifications.

• Training Other members of the Turning section in setting machines

• Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful teamwork. Experience Required • Time served / equivalent experience in a precision machining company

Relevant Engineering Qualification

• Ideally Apprentice Trained

• Competent in Fanuc controls

(ESSENTIAL)

• Competent in CNC Thread Machining

• Strong understanding of Fanuc programs with ability to edit, re-run tools etc.

• Able to move offsets

• Able to prove unproven programs, safely

• Competent in inspecting own work using CMMs and gauges to verify product quality

• Conversant with Lynx and Doosan machinery (Preferable)

• CAM experience (Preferable)

• Working to tight tolerances

• Experience of working with a wide range of materials including , Inconel, titanium, mild steels, brass, aluminum-bronze, bronzes, alumininum, plastics, super duplex etc.

Key Purpose

Working with the Site Services team, supporting with general maintenance and IT issues.

The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Principle Responsibilities

● Responsible for all activities associated with the hiring of facilities
and resources, including cleaning, maintenance and handyman duties under the direction of the Site Manager.

● To set up tables and chairs for hirers and for set up of the school.

● To assist with the setup of exam desks for exams.

● To report emergencies in the case of faults to relevant contractors and keep the Facilities Manager/Business Manager informed.

● To maintain the security of the premises including checks on the security lighting and fire and burglar alarm systems.

● To undertake regular basic inspections of the site and buildings and report any maintenance or improvement requirements to the Facilities Manager/Business Manager in line with MAT procedures.

● To undertake minor improvements including painting and the erecting of shelves/notice boards, including repairs to locks hinges and sinks, or any other minor repairs within their capabilities as directed by the Facilities Manager.

● To undertake maintenance of the grounds of the school and ensure the tidiness and upkeep of paths, drives and other hard surfaces, for example, removing leaves and litter, emptying of field bins, keeping the orderly appearance of the grounds including during winter.

● To keep paths, access points and entrances free of snow and ice to ensure safe passage as set out in school policy.

● Where applicable to assist in the co-ordination of school lettings within the schools lettings policy and in liaison with the Facilities Manager including opening and securing the site for lettings- when applicable.

● To undertake all H&S checks as required under the MAT policy including Fire alarm, emergency lighting and any others as asked for by the MAT/Academy.

● To ensure the site is clean.

● To carryout Pat testing (training will be given).

● To provide basic IT support for hirers, staff and pupils with IT and audio visual equipment.
