Your new role
As one of the stakeholders within the Anglian Water framework, they provide both design and construction services across the whole of Anglian Water's region, which is the largest by geographic area in the UK, stretching across Lincolnshire and East Anglia. Work is mainly focussed on clean water infrastructure (water mains), but also includes wastewater infrastructure and both water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects, such as treatment works and pumping stations.

They are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team, reporting into the Commercial Manager for the commercial and cost management of a project or programme of projects from inception through to close out. You will be commercially conscious to the delivery team, providing commercial support to both the delivery management and on-site delivery teams.
Responsibility to ensure that operations are carried out to control costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety.
Working as part of a delivery team providing commercial challenge and recommending actions to achieve and create an environment of out performance.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, some of the key duties include:

• Assist the programme area estimating team to ensure robust estimates are provided that align to scope and make allowance for risks and opportunities including any necessary analysis, transfer of data to procurement system and cost base.
• Subcontracts are properly prepared & reflect agreed scope. Subcontracts are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including compliance with all responses to communications, payments, early warnings, compensation events, programme submissions etc., that all contract files are maintained & kept up to date.
• Work closely with the procurement team, Construction Manager and Project Delivery Manager to develop & monitor procurement strategy.
• Work closely with the site team attending site regularly to ensure they are aware of and can manage the allowances and outputs, provide robust challenge to achieve outperformance, communicate change control and escalate when necessary.
• Accurate live forecasting taking into account the programme and reporting in accordance with the respective work breakdown structure / cost breakdown structure.
• Actual costs are monitored and assessed against baseline, value of work done, solution cost progress, affordability challenges and final outturn calculations, reporting either weekly or otherwise as agreed with the Commercial Manager.
• Provide reports on actual costs vs. estimate & identifying underlying reasons for any variance & resolutions, in particular highlight, challenge & resolve variance to latest plans.
• Work with the delivery team to assist with project and programme risk mitigation plans are considered, put in place and administered.
• Ensure that the Framework Contract is properly administered, including timely issue of early warnings.
• Any inadmissible costs are not included within the project/programme of project costs.
• Final accounts are prepared timely and accurately.

• Degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering/management/cost discipline.

They are now looking for a Commercial Manager to join the team where you will be accountable for the commercial and cost management of a project or programme of projects from inception to close out reporting directly to the Project Leader ensuring that maximum efficiencies are obtained and full compliance of all Anglian Water governance procedures is achieved.
Providing a commercial challenge to the Project Leader and team on all project matters.

As Commercial Manager, duties to include:

• Ensuring robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope and makes due allowance for all risks and opportunities
• Manage and support the commercial and procurement strategies with the Senior Buyers to ensure the tender processes are followed correctly.
• Subcontracts are properly prepared and reflect the agreed scope.
• Subcontracts are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including compliance with all responses to communications, including payments, compensation events, programme submissions, etc., and that all contract files are maintained and kept up to date.
• Ensuring robust cost management is undertaken at all times
• Accurate live forecasting taking into account the project programme
• Actual costs are properly monitored and assessed against the baseline estimate. In particular, all site costs including direct labour, plant & materials, all staff bookings, costs and challenge and variance to the plans.
• Providing reports on actual costs vs estimate and identifying underlying reasons for any variance and resolution
• Ensure that the framework contract is properly administered
• Ensuring that proper records are kept so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available
• Proactive management of opportunities including identifying and implementing plans to realise.
• Ensuring that all identified efficiencies are monitored as to progress and report

What you'll need to succeed

• Educated to Degree/HNC level or equivalent
• RICS/CIOB/CICES
• Delivery of multiple and or complex projects ranging in values from £100k to multi million pound projects with experience with contract administration (working with NEC suite of contracts)

We are recruiting an Accommodation Officer for a large North West Housing Association to work within a NHS key worker accommodation scheme based in Wirral.


Your new role
As an accommodation officer, you will be responsible for day-to-day management, including rent services, accounting processes and organising repairs and maintenance for a NHS-based, key worker accommodation scheme. You will contribute towards the effective management of service delivery to the Group's key worker portfolio, ensuring that key performance indicators are met. You will be required to do tenancy sign-ups, take rent payments, allocations and terminations.

This is a full-time on-site role, and you will be required to work 35 hours a week Monday - Friday, working either 8.30-4.30pm or 9-5pm. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. You will be required to cover staff sickness/holidays in schemes based in Chester and Wythenshawe (you would be able to claim back any mileage costs).

What you'll need to succeed
You will be required to have knowledge of legislation in respect of statutory compliance issues and housing management. And you must be able to work independently and as part of a team with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience of day-to -day property management is essential, and you must have experience in tenancy and rent account management. You will be an excellent communicator who can build positive relationships with the residents. GCSE English and Maths or equivalent are essential for this role.
