Job Description:
We are looking for a Human Factors Specialist (m/f) to join its Aircraft Cockpit design team, based in Toulouse, France.
Human Factors’ mission is to contribute to safety and customer's operations efficiency, by ensuring that Airbus is considering Human performance and limitations into its research, development, certification, production, customer support activities for its Product, Services and Processes.
Safety and Humans are at the heart of our mission, with the objective to minimize flight crew workload and risk of errors, enable effective normal and abnormal situation responses and enhance the pilot task performance.

You will evolve in a department of about 30 Human Factors specialists and experts, with very diverse profiles in terms of nationalities (about 10 different nationalities), education and professional background, age, gender. They are all highly skilled in one or several HF disciplines such as cognitive ergonomics, neuroscience, linguistics or physical ergonomics. Our department covers a large variety of projects, from light evolutions on existing products to large RnT projects to prepare the next generation of cockpits.

Your challenges:
Bring Human Factors expertise on critical & complex cockpit layouts, functions, technologies and operations by working in a multidisciplinary team composed of pilots, designers, training centers representatives, safety specialists, and various experts from the design office.
Analyze the needs and factors influencing human performance, develop recommendations to be taken into account in the design of flying fleets or future products and lead the Human Factors evaluations
Carry out projects with partners and universities in order to develop scientific knowledge with the aim of continuously improving aviation safety.
Represent Airbus in international working groups dealing with regulation evolution or Safety Enhancement initiatives.
Your boarding pass:
Master Degree or Phd in applied UX Human Factors field, with specific knowledge of human behavior (perception, understanding, problem solving ) & characteristics (impact of fatigue, stress, workload, Situation Awareness, experience, competence, motivation, personality ...) and HF methods applied to complex system design
Knowledge of aircraft systems and flight operations
Knowledge of HF related certification regulations applied to large commercial aircraft
Large experience in aeronautical fields such as airline, aircraft manufacturer or aeronautical authorities and/or pilot license are a significant plus.
Ability to speak up, justify and defend a position in challenging situations.
Negotiation level of English.
Salary range based on the required profile: 85 to 95 K€/year (including a variable part based on your performance).
