You’ll be expected to supply accurate and relevant information and guidance on pension options and choices. You’ll need to have a good foundation knowledge of pension law and practice, as well as a thorough understanding of a broad range of pension arrangements.

This is a home-based role where you will conduct appointments over the phone. There isn’t a delivery area for this role, you will deal with people across the UK. It will be necessary to attend quarterly meetings in Trowbridge or Chippenham, so you would need to be based within a commutable distance of these locations.

Successful candidates will ideally be able to start in your local office from 5th August. It is essential that you can attend an online induction programme starting on 12th August. The course lasts 3 weeks, on a full-time basis.

Full time or part time hours considered. The hours will be 7 hours 20 minutes per day between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm. (To be agreed). Part time candidates would be required to work on a Friday and the minimum required would be 3 days per week.

Some of the key accountabilities of the Pension Wise Guidance Specialist:

• Provide pension and retirement information and guidance to members of the public, in line with the defined Pension Wise Service, through a medium of different channels.
• Help consumers to understand the full implications of their pension choices.
• Raise consumer awareness of pension scams and fraudulent activity, encouraging consumers to report any issues to the relevant authorities.
• Provide timely and accurate follow up information that adds value to the consumer and is clear and easy to understand.
• Contribute towards shared best practice within the individual local office and across the local Citizens Advice (LCA) network.
• Ensure that all work conforms to the Pension Wise quality standards, including undertaking peer to peer observations for quality assurance purposes, where applicable.
• Ensure that all required management information is both captured and reported on a timely basis.
• Complete training, continuous professional development and other requirements to gain and maintain accreditation.

It is essential for the Pension Wise Guidance Specialist to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Solid foundation knowledge of pensions’ law and practice across a broad range of pension arrangements; occupational, personal and state pension. Also, an understanding and appreciation of wider retirement issues.
• The ability to build a rapport and communicate confidently, empathetically and professionally.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7.30am-4pm (Friday finish at 3pm).
Rate of Pay: £11.44p/h

Duties Include:

• Picking plants from various locations around the nursery
• Plant or Replanting plants
• Packing Plants for orders
• Some roles require manual handling up to 25kgs
• Weed control
• General maintenance around the nursery

Training will be provided by the client along with an on site induction.
Free parking is available on site.

There is a direct train from Harrogate/Knaresborough/York.

Working on our Restart Scheme, that gives Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for at least 12 months enhanced support to find jobs in their local area. Following referral from their local Jobcentre Plus, participants receive 12 months of intensive personal support from the Restart Scheme. This support helps them to break down their barriers to work and secure sustained employment.

What the job is about

Employment Advisers are the front line of Reed in Partnership. The main purpose of the role is to support unemployed jobseekers (our participants) with finding and sustaining employment, engage with employers and make local communities aware of the benefits of our service. Our participants are the lifeblood of our business, and providing them with an excellent service is at the very core of the Employment Adviser role.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include

• Meeting with jobseekers, identifying any challenges and barriers with finding employment
• Booking jobseekers to any relevant training courses including customer service, security, hospitality, personal development, IT literacy and many others
• Supporting jobseekers with CV writing and job application process
• Liaising with employers to identify any employment opportunities for the jobseekers
• Outreach work – promoting Reed in Partnership within the local community

Key to your success in this role is to demonstrate the ability to build rapport, show empathy, motivate people and influence their perception of working

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with

• Able to demonstrate coaching/mentoring experience and persuasion/influencing skills through previous work or social activities
• Experience of working in a customer facing environment (i.e. Customer Services, Hospitality, Social Care, Customer Services, Sales)
• Experience of working in a performance target driven environment
• Willingness to travel locally (e.g. to meet customers/employers).
• A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma in combination with GCSE English Language Grade B or above (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). If you do not possess this level of qualification you will be required to achieve a Level 2 in a Literacy Assessment conducted at interview stage.

Desirable Personal Attributes:

• Experience of exposure to various customer groups.
• Previous experience of a working in a similar role in Welfare to Work or publicly funded services
• Any relevant advisory and/or training qualification e.g. Award in Education & Training (formally PTLLs Level 3), NVQ Advice & Guidance or equivalent.
• A degree in relevant subjects or equivalent, e.g. Sociology, Social Care etc.
