Spider is supporting a leading farm committed to maintaining an extensive range of vegetable and arable machinery to ensure the highest quality produce. They are looking for an experienced Agricultural Engineer / Fitter to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis, based in East Wretham just outside of Thetford, Norfolk.
About the Role:
As an experienced Agricultural Engineer / Fitter, you'll be at the centre of the operations, ensuring their equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. This role is vital in providing high-quality repair and maintenance services, both independently and as part of the vibrant workshop team.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Taking responsibility for the effective maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards.
- Assisting farm staff with in-field breakdowns.
- Conducting 3-monthly planned preventative maintenance on all assets.
- Completing reactive jobs efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
- Keeping meticulous maintenance records.
- Collaborating with the team while confidently taking the initiative when needed.
About you:
You will need to hold a clean driving licence, be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Hydraulic experience, mechanical engineering qualification, and previous experience of servicing equipment are highly desirable. Welding and fabrication skills, as well as training in abrasive wheels, are also a plus. General maintenance experience is essential, with electrical experience or qualifications being a bonus.
