The post holder will: Assist the Lead Oncology Pharmacist, Lead Aseptic Pharmacist and Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist on all aspects of the service, on matters relating to aseptic dispensing, the aseptic preparation of parenteral drugs, investigational medicinal products (IMPs) and the regulatory aspects of pharmacist supervision in unlicensed and licensed premises. Work with the Lead Aseptic Pharmacist and Principal Pharmacist for technical services to maintain and improve the pharmaceutical quality system and participate actively at quality management system meetings. Work closely with the wider aseptic team to ensure the smooth running of the aseptic units. Maintain a high quality, cost effective and efficient patient-centred pharmacy service in the provision of aseptic services. Assist the senior pharmacy technical services team to ensure that clinical trials are set up and conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and aseptic products are prepared in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all relevant medicines regulations and ethical requirements, to ensure the product is fit for its intended use. Contribute and support the Principal Pharmacist for technical services in maintaining the document control system, reviewing as per schedule any relevant procedures and worksheets. Assess the stability of new and existing products, investigate deviations, and determine root causes, and contribute to the development of corrective and preventative actions. Complete internal audit and quarterly unit inspections, identify gaps with standards and agree action plans with the Senior Aseptic team. Assist with the Planned Preventative Maintenance and Validations programme for the Technical Services Unit. Contribute to the development of other staff and provide professional leadership and supervision to the haemato-oncology/aseptic service. Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of haemato-oncology clinical pharmacy service, under the overall direction of the Lead Oncology Pharmacist Provide a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service in line with corporate objectives and government initiatives. Identify risk management issues and assist in developing safe systems of practice with the aseptic/chemotherapy service. Audit, monitor and develop medicines optimisation in line with Pharmacy Directorate strategy and objectives.

To provide all trust staff with the skills necessary for them to use IM&T systems efficiently in the areas of the system used within their own specialty/department for the delivery of patient care through high quality and relevant training programmes incorporating the relevant organisational values, objectives, policies and procedures to support the system and its use. Maintain safe use of all IT equipment used and ensure secure working on all IT systems. Issue and deactivate user IT accounts for all systems. Liaise with informatics colleagues to agree, implement and maintain fault/issue reporting procedures. Liaise with system suppliers, reporting problems as and when required. Manage all system working processes, following guidelines and escalating issues as required to on call services. Communicate with external organisations, such as system suppliers and other multi-disciplinary organisations. Ability to deliver training to a variety of audience types from one to one training, classroom environment and Staff Induction sessions. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and use a variety of techniques to enhance learning and have the ability to communicate technical understanding to non IM&T staff. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT Assist with the preparation of learning environments, organisation and co-ordination of diaries with staff for the facilitation of training and preparation including the layout, setting up equipment and learning aids. Provide comprehensive training to Clinical and non-clinical staff on multiple Trusts IT systems some of which are specific to Departments/Specialties. . Ensure that all training records and assessments are completed as appropriate. Assist with the development of courses to accommodate differing skill levels and learning styles.

Maintain ESR User Account access, create new user accounts and maintain existing user accounts ensuring that account holders have the appropriate system access. Manage the ESR System email inbox queries in a timely manner in line with the Service Level Agreement. Provide support to system users in functionality i.e. recording pay progress, annual leave, learning management courses. Undertake patient facing and patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared-decision making conversations with patients Carry out medicines optimisation tasks including effective medicine administration (e.g. checking inhaler technique), supporting medication reviews, and medicines reconciliation Where required, utilise consultation skills to work in partnership with patients to ensure they use their medicines effectively Support, as determined by the PCN, medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for new care home patients and synchronising medicines for patient transfers between care settings and linking with local community pharmacists Provide specialist expertise, where competent, to address both the public health and social care needs of patients, including lifestyle advice, service information, and help in tackling local health inequalities Take a central role in the clinical aspects of shared care protocols and liaising with specialist pharmacists for more complex patients Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing Assist in the delivery of medicines optimisation and management incentive schemes and patient safety audits Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes and other primary care settings. This will be achieved through undertaking clinical audits (e.g. use of antibiotics), supporting quality improvement measures and contributing to the Quality and Outcomes Framework and enhanced services Work with the PCN multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient medicines optimisation, including implementing efficient ordering and return processes, and reducing wastage; Support the practice medication team in sorting and streaming general prescription requests, so as to allow GPs and clinical pharmacists to review the more clinically complex requests; Provide leadership for medicines optimisation systems across PCNs, supporting practices with a range of services to get the best value from medicines by encouraging and implementing Electronic Prescriptions, safe repeat prescribing systems, and timely monitoring and management of high-risk medicines Provide training and support on the legal, safe and secure handling of medicines, including the implementation of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) Develop relationships with other pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and members of the multi-disciplinary team to support integration of the pharmacy team across health and social care including primary care, community pharmacy, secondary care, and mental health
