Pay Rate: £335.25 per day PAYE
Hours per week: 35-40 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Contract Network Engineer to join our team on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is based on-site near Croydon, with the requirement to work 5 days a week. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure within a large and diverse organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and administer Cisco Wireless, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, Infoblox, and Palo Alto firewalls and Proxy.
Manage and maintain Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
Provide operational support and troubleshooting across Layer 2 and Layer 3 network concepts.
Work with network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and more.
Implement and manage network security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and data protection.
Collaborate with IT specialists, service providers, and end-users to ensure smooth network operations.
Apply your understanding of structured cabling to support and enhance network infrastructure.
Use network monitoring tools to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement of the network and meet service delivery targets, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Minimum Cisco CCNA or Palo Alto PCNSA certificate.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' operational experience with Cisco Wireless, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, Infoblox, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Strong knowledge of Cisco Wireless, Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, and Palo Alto Firewalls (deployment and administration).
Good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
Solid grasp of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF, as well as a strong understanding of LAN, WAN, and WLAN architectures.
Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues, diagnosing problems, and using network monitoring tools.
Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls and VPNs, to maintain a secure and reliable network.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal abilities.
Experience working in large, diverse organisations and dealing with users, specialists, and service providers.
