This is an opportunity for a talented individual to play an integral role in providing a full range of statutory network services across the Falkirk area.

The postholder will provide a comprehensive, high-quality service for the management of traffic management schemes within the Falkirk Council. The role also includes liaising with internal & external stakeholders & clients throughout projects.

You will hold an HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent discipline), will be a member of a relevant institution (IEng or above) and you will have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, as well as being able to lead on the design, procurement and implementation of relevant schemes. Schemes such as 20mph speed limit implementation, pavement parking and many more are included within the role.

You will be enthusiastic, ambitious and a keen mentor with experience, good organisational and presentation skills, alongside experience of current health & safety regulations. You will be IT literate, have good interpersonal and report writing skills, with an overall professionalism.

You are required to be flexible, innovative and reactive to public demands and pressures including communicating directly with member & public enquiries. You will deputise for the Network Co-ordinator as required.

What will you be doing?

• Be responsible for the technical management and evolution of our network infrastructure, research and help drive improvements through emerging technologies and solutions

• Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering services using the latest industry technologies, SDWAN, Secure Wireless networks, Cloud based migrations and network functionality into AWS and Azure.
  
• Project and /or Programme Management experience
  
• Practical experience of implementing and employing the principles of ITIL Service Management framework and its complementary quality standard ISO/IEC 20000.
  
• First-hand experience of working in a SOX compliant and ISO/IEC 20000 accredited organisation or function.
  
• Working under pressure, being able to deal with several problems simultaneously, and maintaining a focus on team performance and targets
  
• 3rd line IT networking support and knowledge of Cisco routers, Cisco switches / DNA, ISE, Checkpoint, WiFi / Meraki, IPT and cloud based networking
  
• Driving licence - would be beneficial as some site visits are required.
