York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a highly motivated and highly skilled Senior network Specialist to join our Digital and Information Service team. You will be working for an organization that has put Digital Technology at the forefront of its priorities to achieve organisational and system transformation to achieve better health and well-being for the people it serves, by providing the critical digital, data and technology services needed by healthcare professionals.
The Network Team supports a vast range of equipment, services and products that help maintain the seamless and secure flow of information all around the Trust’s network. The team is responsible for around 550 Cisco LAN/WAN devices, which allow network connections to over 8000 PC’s, Printers, and over 4000 Cisco IP Phones. The team is also responsible for the Cisco video infrastructure and support the Cisco IPT solution across the trusts estate. The team is also responsible for the perimeter security solutions deployed across the York and Scarborough teaching hospitals sites.
The trust has recently undergone a complete LAN and WiFi and DC replacement programme utilising Cisco DNA, WiFi 6 and ACI technologies to ensure the trust is capable of delivering safe and effective health care whilst leveraging the most recent clinical and IT technologies
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Network Specialists and will assist the Network Manager to proactively manage the converged data network and perimeter security solutions. The implementation of comprehensive standards and controls to ensure the provision of a robust and resilient converged network infrastructure which meets the minimum data security standards expected of a healthcare infrastructure. There will be a particular focus on the development, provisioning and implementation of the wired and wireless infrastructure across LAN and Wan connected sites. This role will also include 3rdline support to the platform and EUC teams for project delivery and ongoing fault resolution.
The successful candidate will also liaise closely with customers, other members of the Department and external suppliers to ensure compliance of new developments within production constraints and implement any changes as approved by the DIS change advisory board.
The role will require you to be available for an on-call rota requiring Out of hours support and candidate will be required to travel between sites and carry equipment. Pool car will be provided.
