CACI's Mastodon Design team is looking for a full time Hardware Engineering Manager to join our team. You will lead a team of electrical engineers supporting the design, integration, test, and evaluation of RF systems with a focus on signal exploitation, communications devices, and radio systems. This position reports directly into senior management.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and professional development support to team of engineers
• Manage hardware design and release schedules across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring milestones, risks, and issues are tracked and actioned
• Ensure engineering projects are properly resourced with the right staff and equipment
• Communicate project status across teams and to senior management
• Guide growth and quality of department by implementing and maintaining policies and procedures
• Provide input and support to business finance with project cost estimates and budget review
• Work across the business to successfully deliver against development priorities
• Provide documentation of work and analysis in formal technical reports and presentations

Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related degree
• Minimum management work experience of 3 years
• Minimum electrical engineering work experience of 8 years
• Team focused mentality with strong leadership skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both direct reports and across engineering and management teams
• In depth knowledge of analog and digital design concepts, filters, oscillators, and power circuits
• There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to obtain Secret and/or higher level clearance.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Broad knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, RF signals, input/output interfaces, and wireless communication technologies
• Experience in circuit board design, fabrication, and assembly
• Experience in analog circuit, RF, digital, and power amplifier design

Overview

Platform Reliability Manager is responsible for three key areas within the Digital Technology team:

• Ensuring the availability of the production environment, lower environment availability, ensuring capacity for growth, and ensuring that the production services meet (or exceed) prescribed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).  and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).

• Ensuring that Release Management Practices and Procedures are followed through modern Dev/Ops processes.

• Ensuring resiliency of the Digital application through modern application monitoring/observability practices.

Key Area of Responsibility

• Application Monitoring Engineering

  • Implement modern Observability tools and processes.

  • Evangelize the importance of logging/monitoring within the ART

  • Work with Tech Partners to develop the appropriate feature thresholds.

• Release Management

  • Establish and maintain healthy Pipelines for legacy and modern code

  • Ensure mandatory security and vulnerability scans are automated and up to date

  • Leverage Test Automation resources to provide fast feedback loops to development teams and business partners.

• Environment Support Engineering

  • Coordinate the infrastructure standards (patching, firewall, SSL)

  • Establish access standards within the lower environments

  • Integrate within the infrastructure engineering team for automation.

  • Reduce lower environment problems through monitoring and reducing operational toil.

• Proactively analyze, recommend, and manage delivery of recommendations to production environment

• Manage and guide day-to-day activities within the application reliability teams

• Continually evaluate production environments for:

  • Availability

  • Responsiveness

  • Accuracy

  • Scalability for both organic growth and readiness for acquisition-based growth

• Define, document, and evolve application reliability support strategy

• Collaborate with engineering, telecom, networking, and information security teams to ensure application reliability and system security

• Define, design, and deploy value-added preventative maintenance tasks based on:

  • Performance testing of new projects and or functionality being introduced into the production environment.

  • Vulnerability and/or penetration testing for security loopholes

Application reliability manager is responsible for minimizing the potential of unplanned outages. In the event of an outage engage problem resolution teams, establish business command center for communicating to the lines of business and technology stakeholders. Application reliability manager is also responsible for establishing and maintaining on-call support arrangements for the production teams based on the criticality of the applications in their domain, and their support model (onshore / offshore).

Application reliability manager is also responsible for ensuring that procedures, and application reliability strategy is documented and kept up to date. These may include:

• Change management.

• Application Access management – Re-certifications

• Release and Deployment Management

• Incident/problem management

• Root cause analysis – for in-house applications and vendor hosted applications on-premises.

• Network and server setup diagrams

• Backup and disaster recovery procedures per bank standards

Application Reliability Manager is also responsible for establishing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of application reliability tasks. These may include operational matrices on systems, database and network performance matrices, and incident management reports.

Key Qualifications Criteria

• 10+ years of experience managing production environments within an organization or specifically within financial institutions.

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or a minimum of 15 years IT professional experience in lieu of degree

• Working knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering Principles or SRE Foundations Certified

• Strong technical background from both application development and infrastructure perspective

• Hands on technical expertise in Modern Logging practices, Observability tooling, Pipelines and testing principles.

• Strategic Leadership and Vision with a Focus on the “OPS” side of DEV/OPS

• Cross-Functional Collaboration/Building Alliances

• Requires experience with SDLC procedures.

The Commercial and Credit Banking team delivers and supports all the technology used in commercial banking, including Credit, Web, Payments, Capital Markets and Treasury. Overview:

Manages the activities of several Technology Managers and or Team Leaders. Responsible for the budget of cost center(s) spanning concurrent development streams. Provides long and short-term strategic direction for the functional team for multiple applications and/or cost centers. Serves as  primary contact to the Technology leadership team and business partners. Oversees development and career planning for all team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage and participate in consults with client management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommend innovations that anticipate future impact of changing business requirements.  Responsible for building a positive client relationship.
• Monitor the technology direction of the industry and vendor applications. 
• Research and initiate change to the status quo when necessary.  Responsible for vendor and product analysis and recommendations.
• Build rapport within the organization. Communicate and develop a professional level of communication and cooperation. Maintain relationships with vendors and professional organizations. 
• Oversee multiple application development, support testing efforts, technology infrastructure/project management and/or other technology domains.  Organize and control activities of the teams, assign personnel to various projects and direct their activities. Ensure completion of schedules.  Responsible for short and long-term staffing planning. Coordinate activities with other managers as required.
• Implement technology consistent with Division standards and long-range plans. Ensure adherence to all Department and Technology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements.
• Oversee recommended designs based on business and technology requirements.   Manage escalated issues and concerns. Remain current on activities outside the team that may impact the team or client environment.
• Develop and manage multiple cost center budgets.  Recommend and initiate new policies and procedures that improve the performance and effectiveness of the Department.

Proficiency with pertinent project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications

Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature

Experience on large system enhancements, conversions, and production problem resolution
