JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer (Head of)
(Head of Engineering for the Instant Payments Lab and Domestic Lab)
SALARY: £121,023-142,380 per annum
LOCATION: Edinburgh or London
HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Software Engineer within Payments Services Platform at Lloyds Banking Group, to head up
the Instant Payments Lab and the Domestic Lab, and lead the core engineering teams within those, influencing our technical landscape for the future.
You'll be responsible for further developing and delivering transformational change for some of our key payments services, supporting our customers and broader payments ecosystem across the Group and play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the vision for two pivotal labs within Payments Services.
This a great opportunity for an established and well-seasoned leader in engineering who enjoys a challenge, taking-on large-scope transformative change and understands the impact of working for a Group supporting its customers and critical UK payments infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be considered for and successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the below:
Strong Engineering Leadership experience

Extensive engineering leadership experience with a track-record of providing software engineering oversight, technical and people leadership across multiple teams and of having taken responsibility for developing and successfully delivering change management plans that support the organisation's overall strategy.

Being a visionary leader with a track-record of being a strong advocate for technology transformation.

Track-record of developing strategic solutions to long-term business needs by anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities.
Team Development, Mentoring, Coaching

Successful in building a high-performing team culture and in recognising and coaching talent.

A passion for team development; allowing colleagues to develop in different/new technologies and mature in ways of working, resulting in a successful team.
