SSE IT is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to fill the role of Corporate Solutions Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Technical Specialist. The successful applicant will be working as part of the Corporate Solutions Delivery and Support Group within the Corporate Directorate. This is a challenging role, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and versatile individual. Reporting to the Corporate Solutions Technical Team Leader you will be mainly responsible for the day-to-day technical support and development of SSE's Corporate Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. With minimal support, you will be heavily involved in the timely resolution of any non-functional incidents and problems that occur and responsible for the design, development, system testing, UAT and rollout, of both technical enhancements and additions involving this infrastructure.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role:
- Working to defined standards, provide support, estimation, design and development input into new developments to our core applications.
- With minimal assistance support our existing OIC/OCI implementation; responding to support calls raised, investigating root causes for errors and effectively managing Service Requests and Bugs with Oracle.
- Working with Technical Architecture to understand the Oracle technology roadmap and assist with design on major new development or upgrade projects.
- Provide impact assessment, deployment and regression support of infrastructure support packs and patches.
- Providing custodianship for the integration patterns SSE will be supporting. RESTAPI, JSON and Postman knowledge are examples of knowledge we will require.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure foundational services.
- A strong technical understanding of Oracle EBS 12.2 integration capabilities and PL/SQL would be desirable but not essential.
- Possess a strong desire and ability for constant learning, coupled with a willingness to share technical knowledge with the wider team.
