As a result of the continued success and expansion of our FM services to our clients, Sodexo have an opportunity for an experienced multi skilled mechanical and electrical engineer to join our Corporate Service team.

Working in a mobile capacity across the Leeds and Manchester area's, you will travel to client sites in the provided company vehicle and complete building services engineering maintenance to a variety of client properties.

In your new role you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks including maintenance inspections, fault finding, upgrades and installations activities.

These will be completed to achieve the highest level of service for the client, answering queries, reporting any defects and keeping them informed of site activities at the time of the service visit.

In this varied and rewarding role you will be responsible for the completion of PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the client expectations are exceeded.

All works are to be completed in line with the latest guidance and legislation such as SFG20 or relevant ACoP's where applicable. You will be expected to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, ensure your PDA is utilised correctly and keep logs of inspections reports and remedial work.

About You

To be considered for this role you will have and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• An experienced electrical / mechanical technician working to a high standard of building services provision (planned and reactive), with excellent customer service.
• Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), risk assessments and method statements.
• Capable of fulfilling an Authorised Person / Responsible/Competent Person role
• Practical experience of working independently in a technical maintenance environment

The Pathology Partnership between Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals and Calderdale and Huddersfield Hospitals are undergoing a technology refresh which will involve connection of various automated systems with the new Laboratory Information System. The post holder will be responsible for the successful implementation of I.T. systems, and the on-going day-to-day management of some of these systems. The post holder will work alongside clinicians and health professionals to redesign current working practice/process during system implementations. The post holder will liaise with senior managers, clinicians and system users across a national footprint with directorates and partner organisations. The post holder will work with partners and the local Informatics Departments to assist in the development of any necessary interfaces. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of an effective, efficient and robust information capture and analysis service to meet national, regional and local business requirements and essentially improve recording and reporting for the patients and services in the Trust. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Systems Manager to ensure that the system is effectively implemented, maintained and developed liaising closely with clinical, technical and system development staff and system suppliers. Randstad CPE is working with a leading national FM provider who are looking for an experienced Head of Mobile Engineering to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a national role therefore you must be willing to travel to various sites across the UK.

You will provide technical leadership for multiple contracts across the UK with a bias in mechanical/ electrical and fabric.

Drawing upon your previous experience leading mobile engineering teams within the FM sector, you will lead day to day operational delivery, in partnership with the existing team.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring that service delivery is statutory compliant and completed in line with contractual commitments.
* Monitoring first fix times for all engineers to determine training/development and performance management needs.
* Primary client liaison for all general queries and escalations
* Conduct monthly team meetings
* To maximise productivity and utilisation of engineering resource ensuring tablet technology is utilised by all engineers at all times to maximise efficiencies and reporting metrics.
* Take responsibility for carrying out regular audits to ensure that quality of works, both PPM & Reactive, are implemented to the highest standards.
* Undertake regular audits of specialist subcontractor services to ensure contract compliance and quality of service; value for money

To be considered you will have the following experience:

* Engineering degree or equivalent
* Knowledge of critical environment management and processes
* Excellent working knowledge and understanding of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems
* Experience of delivering exceptional customer service by self and through others
* Experience in the management of team of Supervisors and Service engineers providing planned and preventative maintenance service to clients Knowledge and understanding of hard services cost models and P&L responsibility.
* Proven financial acumen essential with commercial experience and business acumen

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Mechanical Foreperson, your role as Mobile Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for:

• Responding to plant breakdowns – ensuring assets are returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution
• Undertaking emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient way on all production equipment
• Owning small scale projects and delivering them in a pragmatic and proactive manner
• Taking a cost-conscious approach to maintenance activities and coordinating with contractors and suppliers when they are on site
• Participating in root cause analysis so repeat failures can be eliminated
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the engineering function through your own observations and experience
• Working with risk assessments and method statements and contributing to the preparation and development of safe working methods for repair procedures
• Maintaining and promoting Health & Safety rules and regulations, following all company processes and procedures
• Challenging unsafe conditions and practices, reporting these through company procedures
• Utilising the computerised maintenance management system and recording all work including fault descriptions, spares used, and repairs carried out. Using application-based inspection schemes

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Mobile Mechanical Fitter will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with minimal supervision. You should also demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as a Mobile Fitter. Suitable candidates will:

• Have a recognised apprenticeship (preferably a higher-level standard)
• ONC/HNC (desirable but not essential)
• Have a strong, practical mechanical systems background, heavy industry preferred - conveyors, drive systems – motors, belts, pumps, gearboxes, crushers, vibratory screens
• Experience of welding and fabricating to a good standard and able to remove and fit bearings
• Possess a fault-finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action
• Be capable of undertaking emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient manner on all production equipment
• IT literate - capable of using PCs, common applications and company systems
• Competent in the use of application-based inspection schemes
• Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly
• Knowledge of site-specific SHE procedures and Safe Working Practices

Suitable candidates for the role of Mobile Mechanical Fitter will possess CPC or be willing to train.
