About the Role

The successful applicant will deliver valuable library services to communities across Leicestershire. This role involves both driving a mobile library vehicle and delivering excellent customer service at the different mobile stops.

The position involves driving predetermined routes in mostly rural villages across Leicestershire, including visits to schools, nurseries and pre-schools and regular village/town locations keeping to a set timetable.

You will be delivering a library service from the vehicle and responding to customer queries.

The post holder will also require a current valid driving license to drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes. A driver Certificate of Professional Competence is desirable but not essential as training can be given. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

About You

• Competent and confident with driving large vehicles in both urban and rural settings. A C1 entitlement to drive vehicles up to 7.5t is necessary to drive our Mobile Libraries

About the Role

As a Highway Authority, Leicestershire County Council has a statutory responsibility to manage its highway (network) in an effective manner, to control and reduce congestion and provide a high level of safe and reliable journeys to the road user.

The Network Management Service, within the Council’s Highways & Transport Operations division, takes an active role in the implementation of the Council’s Local Transport Plan with a primary focus on the Management, Coordination, and Inspection of Temporary Road and Street Works as well as Events which affect the Highway, which is a statutory responsibility for network management.

Job Purpose, Tasks and Responsibilities:

You will provide daily support for our Manuals Operations Manager, ensuring smooth running of the content management system and providing top-notch service to our clients.

You will be responsible for:

- Tailoring manuals for different sectors (e.g., businesses, charities)

- Liaising with internal and external IT teams to ensure the CMS is fully operational and troubleshoot any issues

- Providing first-line support for client product queries and resolving complaints

- Proofreading and formatting manuals and other documents for accuracy and professional presentation

- Assisting with the creation and distribution of client newsletters and updates, ensuring the branding and formatting are consistent

- Supporting administrative processes and improving systems where needed

- Contributing to the testing, due diligence, and implementation of a new CMS system

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

- Ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines

- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with both clients and internal teams

- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel

- Creative thinking for formatting emails and newsletters

It would be great if you also have:
