Job Purpose / Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA) as a Training Instructor at Hinkley Point C (HPC) where we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
The NSA is developing and delivering training programmes in a number of areas such as Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineering, Operations, Radiological Protection, Safety Rules, Chemistry, Fuel Route & Environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of these key training areas. They must be mobile to deliver training where required when needed, ensuring personnel have the required initial knowledge to carry out their roles to a high level. The job holder must ensure accuracy of material, adherence to the training standards / procedures and excellence in quality of delivery.

Contextual Information

Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site in West Somerset, and its vision is to build two major EPR nuclear plants. The Construction Delivery Lead will specifically oversee the construction within the Nuclear Island (NI) area, including Units 1 & 2 (N1, N2, and N3). As this project is massive in scale and complexity, we're looking for someone with experience in delivering large projects under challenging constraints.

Principal Accountabilities

You will be working closely with HPC personnel to assist in effective knowledge transfer within the workforce, while developing your own skills and forging an exciting future.

The key duties the successful candidate will be required to carry out:

The development and delivery of training material in one or more of the key training areas

• Support training in classroom or workshop environments, as well as providing coaching and mentoring of trainees to expedite learning
• Act as course coordinator for responsible training areas
• Responsible for leading and delivering training to groups from 1 up to 20 people, depending on the subject and environment
• Communicate with line managers for the successful development of competence within their teams
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SME) for development of material

The Technical Sales Executive Role
As Technical Sales Executive, you will be responsible for growing the sales of in-house manufactured, bespoke packaging solutions across Southern England and Wales.

This is very much a direct sales / new business acquisition role. With a stretching sales target, you will be spending much of your time in the field attending meetings to identify, on-board and develop new customer accounts and further develop some of our existing customer accounts which sit within verticals including Aerospace, Defence, Electronics, and Medical Equipment. Further to this, live opportunities from our marketing campaign will be passed to you for conversion where external sales meetings with customers are required.


At the core of the role, you will be expected to identify, target, and convert your own new prospects into ongoing, profitable customers. Typical sales cycles range from 3 weeks to 6 months, requiring you to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role

As a Welding Technical Coordinator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for operating the site Welding Quality Management Systems, inputting welding data, generating and issue Weld Process Control Cards for site welding activities and contribute to the completion of site welding quality records.

• Operate and administer the WeldEye Welding Management System for the Project/ Contract site operations.
• Transfer all required data into WeldEye.
• Generate site specific weld process control cards in line with afore mentioned weld procedures.
• Create a TQS and Weld IDs
• Create Work Orders (generate WPCC/PWHT & NDE Requests)
• Feedback and maintain welding activities, results, and records.
• Maintain welding records, including document registers and dashboards
• Maintain work files containing the necessary documentation.
• Interact with all other departments associated with welding operations.
• This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.

Essential experience of the Welding Technical Coordinator

• Proven track record in large scale Installation of complex, multi-discipline projects, in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects.
• Experience of welding related activities, inspections (visual and NDT) and quality control.
• A positive 'can do' mentality.

The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's two thousand five hundred rooms.

Day to day, you will support the Technical Author and wider team, amongst liaising with various stakeholders to develop and ensure the provision of user friendly documentation that meets contractual requirements and standards.

• Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various teams to understand project requirements
• Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
• Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organise, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation

Essential experience of the Technical Support Clerk
