£40,000-50,000 per annum - Bridgewater day shift The Technical Project Engineer will be the engineering lead to define and deliver new engineering projects that enhance the manufacturing capability of the Bridgwater site. They will be responsible for the successful delivery of engineering projects through execution of a structured engineering project lifecycle. Examples of project scope include introduction of new machinery, refurbishment of major equipment and introducing automation to the production line. What you’ll be doing…

In this role, you'll dive into the intricacies of safety cases and associated engineering substantiation, contributing to the overarching "barrier model" that safeguards our projects. Your daily responsibilities involve conducting thorough technical reviews to ensure compliance and bolster our assurance that robust processes are in place for the production and review of safety cases and supporting documentation. Who you are…

We’re looking for you to hold a degree in a relevant science or engineering field, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering, and ideally possess Chartered Engineer status. Extensive experience in either working for or supporting a UK licensee is essential. You must demonstrate comprehensive expertise in designing or assessing mechanical equipment, including pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, valves, pipework, cranes, fuel handling equipment, and HVAC systems.

Additionally, you should have a strong background in evaluating the structural integrity of primary circuit components and possess knowledge of materials, material testing, welding, and non-destructive testing.

Other requirements for this position include:


- Possess a strong understanding of quality arrangements necessary in the UK nuclear regulated environment, coupled with extensive experience in conducting assessments and collaborating with engineering functions to uphold and enhance quality standards.

Design and Technology and Art Technician
Salary: £19,099 - £19,744 (actual)
35 hours per week, term time and inset days only
Writhlington School is offering the exciting opportunity to help encourage and inspire students in both the Art and Design and Technology faculty. Art and Design and Technology are popular and highly successful subjects within the school.
Technician support will focus on the following:
Material preparation in all areas – metal, plastics, wood
Preparing sets of tools, resources, books for pupils’ use
Store management – racking, cleaning, sorting, storing, ordering
Tool and equipment maintenance including managing maintenance contracts/daily checks
Ordering and acquiring materials
Supporting students with practical tasks, especially for GCSE and A-Level projects.
To ensure at all times, in their work undertaken and in all the above activities that Health and Safety Regulations, and other relevant regulations and guidelines such as COSHH regulations and school procedures, are adhered to and observed.
Both Art and Design and Technology are well resourced faculties, with the students benefiting from a wide range of modern and traditional equipment. Full training for this position will be given to the successful candidate.
