About the Role Base Location: Central Southern England
Salary: £46,626 - £54,154 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As Streetworks (NRSWA) & Mobile Plant Trainer and Assessor you will train and assess delegates against current New Roads & Street Works Act qualification standards and/or NPORS Plant accreditation, playing an important role in ensuring that SSE have sufficient levels of qualified skilled staff to meet operational targets, and are safe and competent to work on the highway.
Reporting directly to the Technical Training Manager, you will work closely with our internal quality assurance team to ensure that the required accreditation standards are met and are to the satisfaction of the awarding body external verification.
Our main training facility is Thatcham however we would be happy to consider candidates from Central Southern England who may be able to deliver training locally. There may be a requirement to travel to other SSE sites to for certain training courses in line with business and team requirements.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
- Training and assessing delegates against current qualification standards.
- Ensuring that all training and assessment delivery is in line with internal and external standards to the satisfaction of the awarding organisation.
- Undertake training and assessment for other types of competencies to assist in fulfilling the overall Technical Training programme requirements.
- During and following completion of training delivery, you will have the responsibility of ensuring all supporting evidence, attendance records and paperwork are accurately recorded to the required standard.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A strong operational background with sufficient vocational experience working on the highway in the energy or utilities sector.
- An excellent communicator, both face to face and in writing and will be excellent at building professional working relationships with a wide variety of colleagues.
- We would ideally like a candidate with experience in coaching, teaching and assessing, however full training will be given to candidates who hold the relevant technical skills and can evidence the right potential to become a successful trainer.
- You will be required to hold or obtain a level 3 qualification in both teaching and assessing.
- Competence in using Microsoft packages and have adequate IT skills in order to be able to use our Learning Management System to record attendance and results of training and assessment.
