You will be in charge of the finances for your school's kitchen as well as every aspect of the food and beverage operations as the Sodexo Cook Manager in Croydon, Staines and Surrey areas. It will be your duty to make sure that the catering provided by the school is among the best in the area and that the food and service meet the highest standards. What you do:

• Manage the replenishment of food and the dismantling of work areas at the end of service.
• Develop, mentor, conduct training, and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control the complete catering operation, including labour, food, and stock expenses.
• Manage and optimise all costs that are under your control.
• Ensure uniformity in the food and service standards provided to fellow staff members, visitors and students.
• Manage the creation and development of menus.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are being followed.

What you bring:

• Full UK Driving Licence required for this position and own vehicle required for this role as travel to a different site each day may be required.
• Must have expertise on cooking on a large scale, anywhere between 100 – 1300 students.
• Have experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
• Have previous staff supervision experience or line management experience.
• Have experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
• Be aware of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy Kitchen environment.
• Be professional, leading by example and having a positive outlook is key.
• Hold basic food handling skills certification:
  • NVQ Level 2
  • Level 2 Food safety Certificate
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in hands on cooking, training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be given.

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performing as the subject matter expert (SME) to Licensed Independent Providers (LIPs) and Service Chiefs regarding routine and complex matters related to C&P.
• Assisting the C&P Manager/Analyst in developing short- and long-term goals necessary to accomplish the mission of the C&P program.
• Assisting the C&P Manager/Analyst in drafting local credentialing processes and Medical Staff Bylaws in compliance with all applicable regulations.

• Informing the C&P Manager/Analyst of trends identified, audit results and identified problems that may affect a provider's privilege status.

The role is pivotal to success and growth of businesses/services and will report to the Contract Manager. You will have the ability to update and maintain up to date professional and technical competence and use this in the achievement of objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision of the site team in accordance with company Procedures andPolicies.
- Ensuring the efficient and effective operation, maintenance and repairof the sites M&E Plant and Equipment, Building Fabric, Site Infrastructure, External Works, Grounds, Transport and Waste Services.
- Planning and controlling change.
- Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency.Ensuring that there is suitable cover to support a robust out of hours call out system for all contract service lines.
- Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to confirm that reactive repairs to the sites M&E systems (such as - but not limited to - BMS, Fire, Air Conditioning, Generators, Compressors and LV Electrical Distribution and Switch Gear), fabric and site infrastructure are completed correctly and in accordance with the contract requirements.
- Provide technical support to team supervisors to prioritise and delegate reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks to the delivery team ensuring optimum levels of service delivery are being achieved.
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules and industry best practices.
- Advising the Account Manager on labour levels and holiday/absence cover
- Sub-Contractor procurement and appointment
- Management of Specialist Service Contractors, including Induction and signing off and actioning minor works listed on service report sheets.
- Monitor staff's performance and ensure service delivery meets and exceeds client's expectations.
- Financial management and planning, reviewing budgets and managing cost inclusive of internal and external invoicing
- Support the Account Manager in producing Contract Review Packs in accordance with the Business Unit timetable.
- Regularly monitor and audit Quality documentation to ensure compliance with companies standards.
- Ensure that all company standard policies relating to HR issues are understood and adhered too, including managing grievance/disciplinary processes as required.

Experience required:

Applicant must have and maintain a current valid driver's license.
At least two years at a similar level or equivalent.
Knowledge of current technical standards
Knowledge of business-critical services
Working in a Blue-Chip environment.
Formulating, Assessing and Validating Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
