A full-time placement has become available for an experienced Design & Technology Technician to work on a short term supply basis.

The desired candidate will have at least 12 months experience in the role of Design & Technology Technician. You will be expected to support the department by the maintenance of equipment and machinery, preparation of materials and ensuring that strict health & safety procedures are followed.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the following

• Experience working with machinery
• Experience working in a school/college
• Available immediately
• Relevant Health & Safety Experience/ Qualifications
• An Enhanced DBS

Your new role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Design Technology Technician to join our Design and Technology Department at this secondary school . The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Design and Technology and play a key role in providing technical support and services to the department. With strong practical skills in resistant materials and proficiency in operating tools such as the circular saw, bandsaw, and planer, you will be responsible for designing and creating artefacts to support teaching. Key responsibilities include maintaining equipment, preparing materials for lessons, assisting students with technical challenges, and managing the ordering of supplies. What skills and experience we're looking for

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teachers to teach Computer Science and IT at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, along with assisting the Subject Leader in leading this key department. Experience of teaching Cambridge Nationals Level 1/2 in Information Technologies or Creative i-Media would also be desirable, but this is not essential and would not prevent suitable candidates from being shortlisted if they meet the person specification.
