The Design and Technology Department at West Hill is committed to the school ethos of Aiming High and delivering a curriculum experience that is ambitious and empowering to both learners and teachers. We are seeking to appoint a committed, reflective and talented Teacher of Design and Technology to work alongside our Head of Department to continue to enrich and grow the experience for our learners. We seek a passionate practitioner who can deliver challenge and support to our students and contribute to the department planning, enrichment and consequently, continue to maintain our healthy KS4 option numbers.

• Salary: Up to £35,912 per annum, depending on experience

If you have a fully valid UK driver's license, Multi-skilled M&E experience, and want to progress your career with an award-winning FM provider then read on….

You'll be out and about on the road travelling to your own dedicated sites as our client's first point of call for PPM and reactive M&E and other general building services maintenance. Tasks could include emergency light testing, fire alarms, lamp changes, basic plumbing, and fabric work.

You'll enjoy working autonomously, where you will be responsible for delivering planned and preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair work. Ideally, you will have the ability to confidently carry out a range of other mechanical tasks as well.

To be successful you will have:

Essential:

• 18th edition or HVAC experience


• Full Valid UK driver's license


• "On the job" experience working in an M&E Engineer role or similar


• Strong communication skills and work ethic


• Awareness and knowledge of health & safety

Desirable:

• IOSH working safely qualification


• Plumbing experience


• Basic fabric skills


• 2391 testing inspection

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an individual who possess:

• Prepare equipment across Food Technology rooms ready for practical lessons
• Safe storage of completed practical work, including wrapping and labelling
• Organising the washing and drying of laundry after each practical lesson
• Checking equipment after practical lessons to ensure it is clean, not damaged and stored correctly.
• Management of fridges and freezers, including cleaning, temperature control, stock rotation, and discarding items beyond the use-by date in accordance to manufactures instructions
• Supporting staff with the care and cleaning of the stockrooms and food technology rooms including ovens
