KBR is looking for a Sr. Technical Advisor, Process to help support our Olefins group of the Technology Business Unit. As a Sr. Technical Advisor, you will be part of a process engineering team to provide plant technical lifecycle support from Basic engineering to plant operation.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Provide site services and technical solutions.

• Meet directly with the client.

• Handle interdisciplinary meetings and information transfer and provide licensee feedback to improve KBR Olefins technology.

• Conventional engineering and operation practice which may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design and operation requirements, and difficult coordination requirements.

• Support proposal development.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering.

• 10+ years of CURRENT experience in Petrochemical Process design, optimization and/or operation.

• High level of proficiency in using process design simulation software (i.e. Aspen, PROII, etc.) to develop new or revamp designs.

• Proficiency in conceptual development of process designs, basic economic evaluations, Process Flow Diagrams, equipment capacity evaluation and specification.

• Ability to provide supervision to less experienced engineers.

• Ability to develop new engineering ideas and concepts.

• Strong English verbal, writing and reading communication skills.

• Ability to clearly convey technical concepts and principles in both verbal and written communications to clients, peers and KBR management. 

• Must be willing and available to travel domestic and international including site base assignment, as needed.

Preferred Education & Skills:

• 20+ years of experience.

• Experience in application of advanced process design techniques to develop and optimize process designs.

• Design or operations background in Olefins; experience in other Petrochemical processes.

Title:

As a Process Engineer you are responsible for performing the activities list below under the supervision and with support from a senior team member. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering with typical relevant experience ranging from 2-7 years. Previous experience in a sector such as Refining, Ethylene, Petrochemicals, Polymers, LNG, or Hydrogen is preferred.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Process Engineering Tasks:

• Process simulation using HYSYS and production of process datasheets and heat and material balances
• Developing P&IDs including hydraulic calculations, relief valve sizing, vessel sizing, design condition development, etc
• Utility and offsites design development such as utility balances associated with steam, cooling water, air, hot oil, fuel gas, nitrogen, etc
• Reviewing relevant supplier information impacting process design

Principle Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory procedures within established guidelines.
  • Verifies patient identification.
  • Identifies and uses appropriate collection method to obtain samples for testing (venipuncture or capillary puncture).
  • Collects sample, evaluates specimens acceptability, and labels specimen.
  • May perform waived testing.
• Accurate and timely processing of specimens.
  • Performs specimen processing with strict adherence to CAP, OSHA, COLA, and CLIA requirements.
  • Trouble-shoots minor equipment issues.
  • Stocks, rotates, and requests phlebotomy supplies on a regular basis to ensure proper availability.
• Performs customer service in lab reception.
  • Greets patients, performs check-in process, and responds to questions and patient needs.
  • Evaluates patient orders for completeness and follows up as needed.
  • Schedules, orders, and releases patients in electronic medical record.
• Maintains safety, education, and competency requirements.
  • Participates in the training of employees and students.
  • Performs proficiency testing as assigned.
  • Performs various clerical duties.
  • Participates in departmental or system-wide meetings, projects, or committees as assigned.

The Engineer must have working knowledge and experience with these systems as they relate to measurement and control within a large-scale petrochemical complex. May also be responsible for advanced controls optimization. Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 16 years related experience, with average experience of 16 plus years. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. Also may be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project. As the lead, plans, budgets, organizes, coordinates and controls the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.

The I&C Engineer will work as an Owner Engineer supervising EPC Contractor Engineers Seconded to our client. The Engineer independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard Instrumentation and Control Systems engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications in the application of Process Automation and Analytical Systems. Assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.

Responsibilities:

·        Work on medium or large size engineering projects with supervision.

·        Prepare accurate and complete designs and calculations as required to meet project requirements.

·        Conduct field investigations when needed; produce field reports with detailed sketches.

·        Coordinate with other disciplines and assist engineers and/or designers to ensure effective quality product.

·        Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.

·        Investigate and resolve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches.

·        Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.

·        Resolve project issues and problems.

·        Provide technical guidance to the design team.

·        Collaborate with design team to maximize design value.

·        Provide employee performance feedback to discipline manager.

Qualification/ Certification:

·        BS degree in Control System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with 16 plus years of hands-on engineering experience strongly preferred in petrochemical, midstream or other heavy industries.

·        Excellent verbal, written communication skills required.

·        Knowledge of Instrument calculation computer applications.

·        Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.

·        Experience working with other disciplines understanding their interface requirements.

·        Experience with design and/or construction of plants desirable.

·        Knowledge of NEC, IEC , ISA & IEEE standards, methods and practices.

Skills Requirement:

·        MS Office (Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word, working knowledge in Access)

·        MS Office (Excel and Word) and product proficiency required.

·        Work with Intools (SPI) a plus.

CE QUE NOUS POUVONS FAIRE ENSEMBLE :

Rattaché à la Direction d’Ingénierie d’AVS, vous serez le référent Métier de la GBU sur les pratiques et outils d’ingénierie matérielle.

A ce titre, vous serez en charge d’optimiser, en liaison avec le Groupe, les méthodes, processus et outils d’ingénierie Hardware, ainsi que veiller à leur implémentation dans les Business Lines d’AVS en coordination avec les responsables Métier (HoD).  

Dans le cadre du programme de transformation LEWIS, vous serez responsable de la maitrise d’ouvrage des nouveaux environnements d’ingénierie matérielle en portant la voix du Métier Hardware chez AVS.

Ainsi, vos missions principales consistent à :

- Capturer les besoins d’automatisation / digitalisation de tout ou partie des activités du Métier Hardware en allant rencontrer sur le terrain les représentants Métier et les ingénieurs des BLs.

- Challenger les besoins spécifiques et déterminer s’il faut intégrer ces besoins dans la vision globale des pratiques d’ingénierie AVS à promouvoir et déployer dans d’autres BLs, ou s’il s’agit plutôt d’accompagner la Business Line vers un changement de pratiques Métier et/ou d’outils pour davantage d’efficacité. Dans les deux cas de figure, vous accompagnerez les Business Lines AVS dans l’adoption de nouvelles pratiques et/ou outils d’ingénierie Hardware.

- Traduire les besoins Métier aux équipes techniques (architectes d’entreprise, éditeurs d’outils etc), savoir les prioriser en fonction des diverses contraintes (techniques, opérationnelles), et coordonner fonctionnellement ces équipes techniques (DIGIS etc) en charge d’implémenter les solutions. Ces solutions se baseront sur les infrastructures et les Factories du Groupe.

- Assurer le déploiement de solutions complètes (infrastructure, applications, migration de données, formations etc) auprès des projets sur le terrain, et accompagner le changement dans l’adoption des nouvelles pratiques et/ou outils d’ingénierie Hardware déployés dans les équipes, en coachant et formant vos relais (HoD, Leaders de Discipline, Key Users) ;

- Contribuer à la mise en place de la boucle d’amélioration continue sur les pratiques et outils d’ingénierie Hardware chez AVS, en évaluant régulièrement les succès et difficultés des projets qui nécessitent des évolutions dans leurs façons de faire et en étant force de proposition pour les améliorer.
