Technical Writer
Key Role:
Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment both independently and collaboratively, supporting cross-functional workstreams that provide cybersecurity solutions to multiple government agencies. Edit program documents, technical guides, reports, presentations, and other client deliverables to meet program requirements and client expectations. Work with various project management and cyber solution teams to understand functional and technical information and requirements. Apply technical editing and writing skills and expertise in MS Office products, analyze complex information, and present it in a format that is easy to read and understand while applying firm, client, and industry standards to create consistent, high-quality documents for on-time client deliveries.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with developing, managing, and reviewing executive-level documentation such as reports, whitepapers, proposals, briefings and technical documentation such as solution requirements, architecture, test, integration, operations plans and guides
Experience with engaging stakeholders at various levels to define business objectives and prioritize goals
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Visio
Experience creating templates and styles, developing technical reports and worksheets, and building professional and robust presentations and deliverables
Ability to lead meetings with SMEs and leadership to discuss topics and issues related to technical documentation
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with supporting design initiatives for governance models, Cyber policy, or business process updates and improvements
Experience with internal or external client management
Experience with analyzing project-specific business metrics, including procurement data, staffing data, or financial data
Knowledge of 508 compliance standards
Ability to visualize and describe processes and methodologies
DOD 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,400.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
