Senior Cyber Security Advisor - Financial Services
City of London
£85,000 - £95,000 per annum
Company client partnered with an international general insurance and reinsurance group in their search for a Senior Cyber Security Advisor.
The role pays up to £90,000 basic salary excluding bonuses, pension and extra benefits - and is based in the City on a hybrid basis.
Our client's team provides significant planning, project management and internal and external consulting services to the broader insurance ecosystem.
Our client seeks a Financial Services (ideally Insurance) savvy Cyber Security hire with experience of robust consultancy skills.
This hire will predominantly:-
* Provide technical IT security insight to underwriting team;
* Assist in creation of roadmaps to deliver change in the Cyber class of business when strategic change or direction is required;
* Represent the business at appropriate industry committees and conferences;
* Support as the central point of contact for all major industry Cyber incidents;
* Work with third parties to review and assess appropriate levels of security infrastructure that our clients should maintain;
* Perform security risk assessments;
* Technical input to help inform Cyber exposure management and modelling.
It is likely the hire will carry a number of the below desirable experiences:-
* Cyber Consultancy experience;
* Technical knowledge of IT including networks, operating systems, databases, firewalls, anti-virus, and patch management;
* Awareness of the Data Protection Act (and GDPR), NIST and PRA initiatives and the Governments Cyber Essentials programme;
* Knowledge and experience of the security products available including intrusion detection, SIEM vulnerability assessment and encryption tools;
* An understanding of UK insurance is desirable. #LI-PB1

Cyber Security Manager - Financial Services
London
£75,000 - £80,000 per annum
Company client partnered with a global financial services organisation in their hiring of a Cyber Security Manager / Lead. The role is to be based in London on a hybrid basis paying up to £80,000 basic plus broad benefits and exceptional career prospects.
The candidate will ideally have client facing consultancy experience and the role will be tailored to the appropriate experience level.
This role will provide significant exposure to internal and external stakeholders. The successful individual will be supported to obtain relevant qualifications and develop their understanding of cyber insurance along with analytical fundamentals.
Core focuses of the broader team include, but aren't limited to:
* Consultancy Services - contribute to the development and delivery of a diverse range of consultancy services to clients around the creation of new cyber products and services, the quantification of cyber risk and the realisation of new market opportunities;
* Cyber Catastrophe Management - collaborating with actuaries, catastrophe modellers and cyber experts to support clients and vendors in the development and evaluation of realistic catastrophe scenarios for the Cyber Insurance market;
* New Technologies - helping the team to develop new technological solutions which enable clients to enhance their understanding of cyber risk or secure new business;
* Expert Insight - working with brokers and actuaries to provide expert insight, translating Cyber Security concepts/ events into their implications for internal and external stakeholders;
* Thought Leadership - work with others to create market leading thought leadership on relevant Cyber Security concepts and their application to the Cyber Insurance industry. Core Responsibilities:
* To build effective working relationships within the team and other internal departments.
* To act as a point of contact within the department for specific tasks/processes;
* To ensure effective and structured verbal and written communication, with the ability to present information in a clear manner and contribute to meetings as required; * To use best practices and knowledge to identify efficiencies and process improvements within projects assigned, and to solve problems as required; * To be proactive in seeking opportunities to develop own expressible wherever possible;
* To work with minimal guidance; managing own workload, demonstrating effective prioritisation of tasks and providing regular progress updates against project plan;
* Ability to manage competing priorities within the Gallagher Re Analytics team.
* Forward planning (ability to anticipate future outcomes).
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
* Knowledge of IT security fundamentals as well as frameworks, such as NIST and ISO27001;
* Experience of cyber consultancy in client facing roles;
* Capability to translate technical concepts for different internal and external stakeholders;
* Experience working with threat scanning technologies and their interface with insurance requirements;
* Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, both internally and externally; * Experience working with Financial Services preferred;
* Good attention to detail; * Interest to learn about insurance, reinsurance and analytical fundamentals;
* Personable, enthusiastic, ability to summarise and explain key drivers of complex situations in a clear and concise manner.
Education / Qualifications (preferred):
* University degree required in appropriate discipline at 2:1 or above. Cyber Security, STEM or Political Sciences associated disciplines are preferred;
* CISSP associate status/ equivalent preferred OR a willingness to complete the full qualification;
* Excellent IT skills, in particular, ability to present information clearly and effectively over MS PowerPoint or MS Word. Skills using MS Excel also preferred. #LI-PB1
