The role
As a Security Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The security team ensures our premises are secure and continue to operate allowing our wider team to deliver projects and support services. Our engineering is lauded by many, however without a successful support team creating the environment to succeed we cannot be as successful as we are.
Day to day, you'll:
- Secure the premises with regular patrolling of property; monitor surveillance equipment; inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry if required
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform staff and visitors of policy and procedures; deter trespassers
- Compile reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
- Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
This role is full-time and will be based onsite in Tewkesbury. The role will be conducted on a shift pattern which will consists of twelve hour shifts, four days on and four days off.
Essential experience of the Security Officer:
- Thinking and reasoning skills for dealing with emergencies
- Concentration and diligence skills to stay alert and aware of your surroundings.
- Customer service skills for challenging people politely but firmly
- Excellent verbal communication and negotiating skills.
- Able to conduct tasks on computer or hand-held device.
Qualifications for the Security Officer:
Relevant qualifications desirable, but not essential i.e., BTEC Level 3 Security Management or SIA

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
