To report to the Consultant Midwife and be responsible for ensuring that the Public Health Agenda is developed and delivered within Maternity Services. Develop in collaboration with the Consultant Midwife and specialist midwives the most appropriate care pathways identifying where and when it is for the most appropriate for public health input to be deployed to have the most effective and efficient impact. Focus upon improving outcomes of women with modifiable risk factors such as smoking, obesity and breastfeeding, and develop and implement processes to secure a year-on-year increase in uptake of immunisation. Support the service coordinators to write and revise maternity guidelines pertaining to public health agendas Support Infant Feeding Coordinator in embedding the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative Standards within the service and preparation for UNICEF BFI Accreditation Support Smoking Cessation Coordinator in continued development and delivery of a stop smoking in pregnancy service, directly to pregnant mothers, to support them to successfully quit smoking during and after pregnancy and monitor outcomes as required to achieve interventions as part of SBLCBv3 Element 1 Lead conversations with women and families to be around weight management during pregnancy and refer to the appropriate service Revise and refresh the immunisation strategy and communicate with NHSE validated data as part of monthly return The post holder will be required to plan for and be responsible for the implementation of training in relation to Maternity Public Health Issues. Work collaboratively and in partnership with other health care professionals, offering appropriate leadership, guidance and supervision to colleagues Assist with delivering quality improvements Take responsibility for Key Performance Indicators and report writing to demonstrate compliance with a variety of care quality indicators around the public health agenda

To manage a designated Health Visiting Team. Completing the teams 1-2-1s and annual appraisals. To manage the safeguarding dashboard with support from the Professional Leads, ensuring your teams figures are cleansed and workloads managed. To manage your teams sickness, annual leave and proformance/capability with support form your Professional Lead and Human resources. To Lead the weekly Work allocation meetings feeding down information to your team from the Public Health Team Leader meetings. To lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and ensure the 4, 5, 6, model is implemented in practice, ensuring services are provided within the tiered model approach Building Community Capacity, Universal, Targeted and Specialist. To promote the health of all children and young people, especially those from disadvantaged groups, to ensure they are offered the opportunity to achieve optimum development. To Identify, prioritise, develop and implement programmes of care to meet individual and local needs. This will be achieved through evidence based assessments, effective care planning and implementation of a range of support packages for individual families, targeting the most vulnerable families and groups utilising best available evidence. Work in accordance to the commissioned service specification, to ensure the 5 mandated reviews are completed within required timescales, services provided are evidence based practice. To Identify, prioritise, develop and implement programmes of care to meet individual and local needs. This will be achieved through evidence based assessments, effective care planning and implementation of a range of support packages for individual families, targeting the most vulnerable families and groups utilising best available evidence . To clinically interpret information, analyse and identify appropriate individual plans of care in line with Universal, Targeted and Specialist cases within the Health Visiting caseload. To appropriately delegate and supervise workload within the skill mix team in line with service operating procedures and competency frameworks. To provide expert advice, support and interventions to all families with children in the first years of life. To identify the needs of individual children, parents and families (including safeguarding needs) and refer or direct them to existing local services, thereby promoting early intervention. To operate within Children & Young People Services Child Safeguarding Policies, Standards and Procedures, recognising and taking appropriate action in relation to children where there is suspicion of abuse. To participate in strategy meetings, case conferences, providing reports as required and to have clinical and safeguarding supervision as per policy for Safeguarding children.
