We are hiring two positions with two available shifts:
Shift A: Swing Shift: 4 pm- 12 am
Shift B: Night Shift: 12 am -8 am
The Security Operations Technician performs para-professional level operations center work by answering and directing, urgent and exigent calls via telephone, text and other means, daily, and in a mission essential function, as assigned.
The Technician continuously receives phone calls and makes outgoing calls in support of 16 city owned facilities, logging post checks and urgent/exigent/emergency activity logs. Directly supports as a first line of safety, all city agencies.
The SOC technician will also by their education formally and while on the job, decide to escalate issues for a specific response by security teams, law enforcement or other first responders. You will also take and disseminate after hours calls or incidents that are received and are supporting
Performs a high volume of telephone work, receiving calls for and calls to city agencies including first responders and internal city functions having mission critical posture, asking for call backs, contacting additional resources to help respond to and resolve urgent and emergency incidents.
Validates facility and panic/duress alarms received using monitoring tools in city provided access control software and facilitating a city response in support of safety.
Operates multi-line telephone systems, computer systems, and radio systems to complete assigned duties.
Actively monitors 100+ CCTV assets continuously and performs numerous checks for safety, security, and other urgent matters, actively looking for urgent or emergency issues needing Security Operations Center support and actions and making logs of same.
Regularly and in support of the security operations center strategic role, performs data analysis, using software tools like Excel to build graphs, tables etc., demonstrating trends.
Regularly uses four software tools at once, to provide situational awareness city wide.
Has the highest ethical standards for the work they perform and demonstrates the ability to be trusted with highly sensitive information, materials and unfolding, life threatening situations.
