As a INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties:
-Assist with conducting Federal Personnel Background Investigations, many of which are sensitive or controversial, where allegations, hearsay information, or other vague or intangible information of an adverse nature exist.
-Obtain records used to evaluate individual's trustworthiness for access to classified information, placement in a sensitive position, retention in the military services, or placement in Federal employment.
-Assist with collecting and developing information from a variety of records.
-Prepare reports of investigation in accordance with DOD guidelines and instructions.
-Assist in the Field Office, on an as needed basis, to ensure coverage is maintained with the administrative tasks

• Serves as a Police Record Clerk (Office Automation), performing a variety of clerical, administrative, office automation and specialized functions in support of the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
• Serves as the Post Debarment, and Revocation and Suspension of Installation Driving Privileges clerk for Fort Meade.
• Prepares DA Forms 4833 for all Crime Records Center (CRC) reportable crimes and repeat offenses.
• Provides assistance to walk-in visitors, and telephone callers.

HR ASSISTANT, NF-01:
Provides general information regarding position vacancies, application procedures, status on vacancies and requests, etc. Receives requests for personnel actions. Checks request for completion and accuracy. Routes/prints requests for personnel action. Creates recruitment file/folders. Initiates and tracks local/installation records checks. Schedules and prepares in-processing and out-processing of employees. Reviews and verifies completion of personnel documents. Obtains missing information for personnel documents/records. Enters data into automated personnel systems. Assists in providing recruitment and placement service to Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) activities. Assist applicants in applying for vacancies. Coordinates onboarding tasks for new hires. Refers inquiries about specific issues or actions to the appropriate assistant/specialist.

Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving telephone calls and visitors, routing and filing correspondence, sorting and distributing the mail, and providing routine support tasks within the HR office. Performs records management tasks/responsibilities. Creates and maintains Official Personnel Folders (OPFs). Drafts outgoing correspondence. Operates a personal computer and office software programs to enter data, complete forms, and correct errors and omissions in documents, files, and records, as needed. Utilizes automated office equipment (i.e., copier, fax machine, or equivalent) in accomplishment of tasks. Makes copies, scans documents, uploads and files documents for casefile or recordkeeping purposes. Distributes copies of personnel actions. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position will be a noncompetitive promotion to Human Resources Assistant, NF-0203-02, PG # 70201 in six (6) months' time no later than one (1) year.

HR ASSISTANT, NF-02:
R&P: Utilizes automated recruitment tool. Builds and edits user accounts. Generates vacancies for job announcements. Enters applicable position and organizational data for vacancy. Creates job opportunity announcements. Verifies applicant eligibilities in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Produces applicant lists for selecting official. Performs onboarding tasks. Initiates and monitors local installation records checks. Monitors status of background investigations. Conducts in-processing briefing. Assists in the completion of employment documents.

Classification: Enters classified position descriptions into automated library. Verifies signatures on position descriptions. Uploads supporting documents (i.e., evaluation statement; org chart; position designation tool (PDT) result, etc.) into the position description casefile/record. Locates position descriptions in the library. Routes non-routine classification requests to appropriate point of contact.

DCPDS: Enters personnel data into an automated personnel data system. Completes applicant and position builds using data provided. Verifies documentation for personnel action. Codes personnel actions in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Processes a variety of personnel requests and actions. Generates personnel reports. Identifies and corrects discrepancies in personnel data.

Creates and maintains Official Personnel Folders, position control registers, office files, group insurance files, etc. May requisition forms and post changes to directives. Assists applicants with system errors when applying for vacancies. Elevates complex system issues to senior HR staff. Prepares and submits payroll transmittals.

1. Prepares, reviews, and processes administrative discharges and provides administrative support to discharge boards.

4. Carries out routine, miscellaneous clerical tasks. Performs clerical support duties to ensure efficient office operations. Reproduces and assembles copies of a variety of correspondence. Distributes mail and messages.
5. Provides general customer service. Focuses on responsive and accurate customer service within the Pass & Registration/Visitors Center environment.

1. Maintains and tracks Security Forces incident reports, tickets, barments, driving records, revocations, and suspense using the Security Forces Management Information System (SFMIS).
2. Maintains controlled items. Maintains control logs, files, accountability for tickets, and accident/incident reports that may be classified. Conducts quarterly audits to ensure all reports/tickets are accounted for in the file.
3. Provides administrative support to ensure efficient office operations. Receives and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to appropriate staff. Receives and refers visitors.
