Duties will include:

The postholder will provide public health expertise on substance misuse and alcohol within the Council, partner organisations and the wider health and social care system. Expected to lead on the commissioning, development and implementation of an agreed range of public health programmes relating to substance misuse and alcohol and plan, monitor, evaluate and respond to need ensuring prevention and early intervention is embedded across the local system.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialist public health leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating substance misuse and alcohol public health programmes to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities across the life course.
Lead on development of multi-agency and integrated population, community, family and individual level primary,secondary and tertiary substance misuse and alcohol prevention programmes working across council departments, organisations, partnerships, and communities.
Responsible for the substance misuse and alcohol budget. This includes commissioning/ performance management of the adult substance misuse service, oversight of the Supplementary Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Grant (SSMTRG), inpatient detox, rehab placements and Individual Placement and Support (IPS).
Provide specialist public health leadership on areas such as reducing drug related deaths, alcohol licensing, Balance Northeast and attending the Northeast Drug and Alcohol Leads Network and any ad-hoc regional meetings.
Work alongside the Public Health Consultant and the Public Health Lead to deliver service improvements to ensure the local authority achieves its key performance indicators.
Lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of substance misuse and alcohol evidence based public health and health improvement programmes and service plans and translating national policy, latest evidence base, regional and local policies into local action.
Provide public health leadership in relation to substance misuse and alcohol and provide advice and guidance to Council officers and other stakeholders.
Lead the system wide approach to the substance misuse and alcohol across Sunderland, working with internal and external partners.

Qualifications:

A relevant degree level qualification, supplemented by public health, health improvement or public health commissioning improvement knowledge, acquired through training, courses and or experience and continuing professional development.

Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge and understanding of applying public health theory and practice and assessing and describing the needs of a defined population.
Advanced knowledge of health inequalities and social determinants of health.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national strategies, policies and interventions in relation to Public Health.

Experience:

Experience in directing and coordinating multi-disciplinary and multi-agency groups, taking onboard views of others and responding appropriately and efficiently.
Have experience of planning, managing and monitoring budgets.
Have experience in all aspects of contract management.
Have a proven track record of partnership working with a range of statutory, voluntary and academic agencies to improve health and wellbeing outcomes.
Evidence of implementing public health programmes in a range of settings and making decisions autonomously.

Effective communication skills to be able to engage with varied audiences using a range of methods in order to share and obtain often complex or sensitive information.

HMPPS (HM Prison and Probation Service) is the MOJ (Ministry of Justice) agency that carries out sentences given by the courts, rehabilitating people in their care through education and employment.

Hays is the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support staff. In this role, you will be working for HMPPS as a Prison Security Escort at HMYOI Deerbolt.


Your new role
You will be responsible for:

• Documentation of Contractors' tools and equipment
• Escorting Contractors to their area of work ensuring all security gates/doors and locked accordingly
• Ensuring the safe keeping of the contractors and their tools and equipment whilst work is being carried out
• Escorting Contractors back to the main gate of the prison ensuring all security gates/doors are locked accordingly
• Documentation of Contractors contractor's tools and equipment upon leaving the establishment to ensure nothing has been misplaced.

You will be flexibly deployed to provide a range of other support service activities within operational areas of an establishment when required. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.

What you'll need to succeed
You do not require any previous experience or qualifications for this role. You just need to be security conscious, able to challenge potential compromises of risk, and be reliable. Please note this role does not require you to drive.

Durham Law School seeks to appoint a Professor in Climate Law and Sustainability (Research & Education) as part of a strategic investment in Durham's Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy: Just Transitions to a Net Zero World (JusTN0W). The ambitious and interdisciplinary initiative JusTN0W is funded by a £5 million investment that will see seven academic staff appointed to lead Durham's commitment to a better and fairer world in the face of climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. Our initiative brings together academic colleagues across Law, Economics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences to advance the knowledge and the implementation of just transitions to net zero at international, national and local levels. Your new role
You will be required to travel to different sites to carry out the following duties below, they require Engineers in not just Cookstown but other areas of Northern Ireland so please apply even if Cookstown is not suited.

• You will be responsible for the completion of pre-planned maintenance to varying Fire and Security Systems.
• You will also complete any required remedial repairs encompassing either Fire, Intruder Alarm, CCTV, or Access Control systems.
• Responsible for the completion of Installation Works to varying Fire and Security Systems when required
• You will provide exceptional maintenance services for our high-profile clients and deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria

• City and Guilds or equivalent (NVQ Level 3) in installation of electrical/electronic equipment
• Demonstrate at least 3 years previous relevant experience in a Multi-Disciplined Fire and Security role.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of the installation of all Fire and Security systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant Fire standards BS5839-1:2017, BS6266:2011, BS7273 and Security standards BS4737, PD6662 and DD243
• Working knowledge of NACP
• Able to participate in the company's on-call rota

Desirable Criteria

• Working knowledge of any of the following fire panels would be an advantage: C-Tec, GENT, Cooper Menvier, Siemens, Edwards, Ziton, Cerberus, Bell
• Knowledge of any of the following Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV and Intercom using a range of equipment including: Galaxy, Paxton, Honeywell and Indigo Vision

In this role, you will be working for HMPPS as a Prison Security Escort at HMP Frankland.
Your new roleYou will be responsible for:

• Documentation of Contractors' tools and equipment
• Escorting Contractors to their area of work ensuring all security gates/doors and locked accordingly
• Ensuring the safe keeping of the contractors and their tools and equipment whilst work is being carried out
• Escorting Contractors back to the main gate of the prison ensuring all security gates/doors are locked accordingly
• Documentation of Contractors contractor's tools and equipment upon leaving the establishment to ensure nothing has been misplaced.

You will be flexibly deployed to provide a range of other support service activities within operational areas of an establishment when required. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.
