• Monitor securities programs to reduce the incidence of fraudulent activity. The employee will place a hold on an account if potential risk is identified. Once the employee determines the account is legitimate, the hold is released allowing the transaction to be processed. The employee ensures that completed work is compliant with accepted Automated Clearing House (ACH) policies and Treasury securities regulations.
• Gather risk-related data from internal or external sources to analyze, resolve, and reconcile accounting records and questions related to online sales of securities. The employee uses the information to propose further investigation if fraud is suspected or to provide testimony if called as a witness.
• Develop and implement new procedural methods and practices or system on ways to control or reduce risk. Recommendations are used to close loopholes that may permit fraudulent activity and in preparing functional descriptions of system requirements. Advice is provided on how to manually correct encountered issues. The employee keeps current on online security measures, tendencies, and fraud, which leads to the development of new or updated procedures.

Equans is looking for a Security Officer to join our team in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, B15 2TH on a permanent basis. This is a full time position working 42 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £29,000 per year and benefits package.

Shift Pattern: 12hrs shift. 2 days 07:00-19:00hrs - 2nights 19:00-07:00hrs, 4 off.

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the hospital premises. You will patrol designated areas, monitor surveillance systems, and respond to incidents promptly and professionally. Your role will involve enforcing hospital policies, assisting with emergency situations, and providing support to hospital staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security of all hospital areas.
• Monitor security cameras and alarms to identify potential security risks.
• Respond to emergencies, including medical emergencies and security breaches.
• Assist with the management of access control systems and visitor management procedures.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement agencies as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members.

Requirements

Essential:

• Applicants with prior security, law enforcement, or military experience are preferred.
• Clear DBS standard level clearance.
• Hold an SIA Licence

• Full 5 years address history

• Full 5 years work or education history.

Preferred:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Additional training in security or related fields is a plus.
• Display customer-focused behaviour
• Demonstrate respect, flexibility, and confidence.
• Awareness of healthcare environment sensitivities.
• Making a difference by contributing to the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
