Hays are the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support staff. In this role, you will be working for HMPPS as a Prison Security Escort at HMP Holme House.



Your new role
You will be responsible for:

• Documentation of Contractors' tools and equipment
• Escorting Contractors to their area of work ensuring all security gates/doors and locked accordingly
• Ensuring the safe keeping of the contractors and their tools and equipment whilst work is being carried out
• Escorting Contractors back to the main gate of the prison ensuring all security gates/doors are locked accordingly
• Documentation of Contractors contractor's tools and equipment upon leaving the establishment to ensure nothing has been misplaced.

You will be flexibly deployed to provide a range of other support service activities within operational areas of an establishment when required. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.

What you'll need to succeed
You do not require any previous experience or qualifications for this role. You just need to be security conscious, able to challenge potential compromises of risk, and be reliable. Please note this role does not require you to drive.

Security Clearance by the prison (Hays will organise this for you)
You must hold a valid passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence at your current address.
Proof of National Insurance
Proof of address dated in the past 3 months.

You will be paid weekly, with a premium rate of £11.44 per hour. You will receive all the relevant training for this role and have the opportunity to gain experience in a prison environment which will enhance your chances of gaining permanent employment with the MOJ direct.
Working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 7:45am till 4:45pm with a 1-hour unpaid break. These hours may differ slightly with different projects and establishments.

Our Civil Enforcement Officers are an important part of keeping the local area safe. You will ensure that all drivers follow parking rules on public streets and in car parks.

What will your duties be?

- Enforce on-street permitted parking policies and issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCN's) to vehicles in breach of these codes.
- Record, report and take appropriate action on any defects found in street furniture or any suspicious vehicles in accordance with local procedure.
- Represent the Company and the Council by promoting good public relation and providing advice and knowledge concerning parking related matters.
- Use your radio and Hand-Held Computer Terminal (HHCT) equipment in a proper manner in accordance with practices.
- Attend when needed judgment hearings to give endorsing material in connection with contested PCNs
- Report all issues and PEN's issued to your supervisor at the end of each shift.
