Our client, a partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, needs an experienced Project Officer to work with manufacturing project teams. The Officer will deliver missiles and test equipment, adhering to project control methodologies, and support multiple deliverables. This role presents a stepping stone for progress within project management.
As a Project Officer, you will support multiple projects and sites as required, providing help to the Heads of Manufacturing and Production Project Managers with the delivery of tasks as follows:
What we're looking for:
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and tenacious individual with solid prioritisation and decision-making skills.
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly, strongly, and effectively.
- Numerate and confident in basic mathematics.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing project support, particularly in an engineering or manufacturing setting, along with a certification in Project Management, would be considered an asset.
- Computer literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Word, spreadsheets, presentations, and planning tools, are required (MS Project and Vision)
- Experience with SAP's materials management system and Primavera 6 planning tool is preferred but optional.
- Experienced Project Officer/Coordinator, and Support.
- Local, job-specific training will be provided as appropriate.
What you'll get to do as a Project Officer:
As a Project Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and regularly reporting project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will serve as a liaison between Manufacturing to ensure timely program delivery, quality, and cost. Additionally, you will provide, comprehend, and effectively present information during internal reviews and meetings, support the team in managing risks and opportunities, and assist in compiling estimates and costs related to manufacturing at Completions. You will also be involved in the compilation and analysis of workload forecasts, and you should be capable of accurately compiling and maintaining project programs and schedules. Excellent organizational skills and effective time management are essential. Furthermore, you will maintain and improve the interface with internal customers and external departments, and some travel between client sites will be required.
