Your new role

What you'll need to succeed

• MS Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, One Drive.
• Active Directory and Azure AD
• VPNs, Firewalls, Routers, managed switches, wireless LANs - ideally DRAYTEK
• Virtualisation - likely VMWare
• In depth understanding of network protocols, routing, and subnets. Remote support of Windows 2016, 2019 and 2022.
• Exchange 2010 and above.
• Cloud based Telephony/ SIP Trunks configuration & support.
• Dropbox/ Google Drive
• Knowledge of Wireless PTP link connections
• Scripting/ PowerShell, CMD
• Google Sheets Scripting preferred.
• Knowledge and support of Apple operating systems on both IOS and MACOS
• Experience using remote access software.
• Service management systems ideally Connectwise.
• Cyber-security solutions such as Bitdefender or Webroot
• Cabling and patch management

A well established, successful and innovative manufacturing business that is going through a period of ongoing investment. They are looking for a proactive Transport Planner to join the team as the business continues to evolve. This business can provide ongoing training and development, and there are good opportunities for ongoing career progression.
Your new role
An important position supporting the logistics and manufacturing functions, enabling the business to provide an excellent service to its customers. In this role you will lead a small team of in-house drivers, planning loads and routes for this group, and also booking loads onto subcontract transport when necessary. You will brief and de-brief drivers to understand how service can be continually improved, manage the vehicle service schedule, handle tachograph data and reports, and support cost management and problem-solving activities.
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in a Transport Planning position and be familiar with load and route planning, as well as liaising with drivers and customers. People with experience in general haulage businesses are of particular interest, and are likely to enjoy the predictable weekday hours, and providing the transport solution for your own company\'s products. You will have a good geographical knowledge of the UK, excellent communication skills, and be comfortable using a variety of IT systems. You will be well-organised and able to prioritise tasks, and will enjoy taking the initiative and solving issues. FLT licence is also useful (not essential, training can be provided).
