We have a current opportunity for a Senior Business Process Analyst on a 2 year Fixed-term basis. The position will be based in Edinburgh with a mix of on site and remote work.
As the Senior Business Process Analyst you will be supporting the Transformation Organisational Design Lead in the development of the Target Operating Model and specifically leading the design of "best fit" research support services for prioritised initiatives across the programme. These projects are aligned to the future for the organisation against a set of complex and diverse requirements, varied stakeholder perspectives, and a complex organisational environment. You will design support services which meet our stakeholders and organisations needs and enable transformation with flair, enthusiasm and commitment to engaging our staff in shaping our future research support services.
You will be involved in developing, leading and maintaining all the business design stages and use various good practice methods, tools and techniques.

Essential Skills;
- Demonstrable practical experience of target operating model and/or business blueprint design and implementation spanning capabilities, services, business processes and organisation structures.
- Practical applied experience of improving existing services and establishing new services which are "customer" facing and operating in a highly complex operating environment.
- Practical experience of co-creating services with people accessing services and people delivering services.
- Established/ demonstrate expert understanding of, and experience in the application of, operating model archetypes such as layered support models, flexible resource models and business partnering.
- Demonstrable experience in design artefacts across multiple disciplines (e.g. service design, organisation design, process design, capacity building, process design)
- Working knowledge of industry-recognised service design frameworks, standards, and tools; demonstrable experience in applying these to deliver design outputs.
- Demonstrated experience of working with business analysts using their data to demonstrate an evidenced based approach to design service options.
- Experience of service design and/or service improvement within an internal service environment which is highly devolved in a large complex organisation.
- Demonstrable stakeholder engagement, management, and negotiation skills, including the ability to engage effectively with both business leaders and technical/subject matter experts.
- The ability to clearly articulate design options, benefits, and challenges, and reviewing and assurance of design outputs against Target Operating Model and design principles.
- Applied experience in the use of design-related standards and frameworks - e.g., BPMN 2.0
