Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. Fixed term – 2 years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a planning and enforcement officer to contribute to the Council’s high quality planning service provision and be involved in a varied and interesting workload.

We are looking to recruit a planner who will be responsible for investigating and resolving identified breaches in planning control, monitoring major applications and processing a range of planning applications and undertaking other related development management activities.

You must have a Degree in Planning or equivalent discipline and have membership of RTPI. Knowledge of planning legislation and development management regulations is essential as is effective communication, I.T, customer care and time management skills.

Experience of dealing with a range of planning applications is essential along with the ability to work as part of a team while using your own initiative to work to tight deadlines with the minimum of supervision.

A full, current driving licence is also essential.

We would also welcome applications from recent graduates and those currently working towards Chartered membership of RPTI with a view to developing an Assistant Planning and Enforcement Officer.

Reporting to a Housing Project Manager you will manage who will have specific responsibility for a variety of internal and external improvement programmes. You must be able to organise your own workload; demonstrate ability to direct the workload of customer liaison and quality officer teams and to motivate the teams and have the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure. You will work closely with tenants, owners and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered on programme and to agreed quality and cost.

You will have previous housing experience including developing, managing, implementing and promoting quality in all service areas; developing investment strategies and initiatives; managing customer focused participation programmes; analysing and reporting data and writing detailed reports.

You will possess IT skills with an ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. You must have leadership and organisational skills; be enthusiastic and motivated and be able to deliver against challenging timescales. You will have knowledge of housing management, housing investment and development needs, including legislation and national policy frameworks.

You must be able to attend meetings outwith normal working office hours.

Possession of a Professional Qualification of Chartered Institute of Housing (CIOH) or relevant degree/equivalent is desirable.

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our busy team!

In this role you will be responsible for the successful project delivery of a range of connections.

Projects will include small domestic connections through to large commercial connections, and diversions up to 11kV.

Other roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Managing a portfolio of connections projects to time, cost and customer satisfaction.

- Issuing each contract package to our Framework Partner ensuring compliance, cost management, project tracking and accuracy of information to efficiently deliver connections projects.

- Driving profitability and opportunity through excellent customer service, identifying areas of improvement to work collaboratively with the delivery partners and wider business.

- Ensuring the inspection of works and supporting information is available and given to all parties within the connections delivery process and that all required contracts are managed, completed correctly and stored in line with SSEN processes.

- Providing support to both our customers and delivery partners to ensure the projects proceed efficiently.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Awareness and understanding of SSE connections methodology and licensing conditions that relate to connections activities and our regulatory framework including knowledge of Statutory, Regulatory and License requirements.

- Understanding of the operation, and management, of an NEC3 contract and the various interactions with the delivery partners.

- Project management skills; managing multiple workloads, finance and project planning and a Prince 2 practitioner - or working towards similar qualification.

- Sound business and technical knowledge of electricity distribution or similar market sector.

- Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Project Manager to join our Programme Management Unit. You will provide professional Change Management (including programme and project management) for a number of key strategic programmes and major projects across the council.

Duties will include monitoring and evaluating the day-to-day progress of projects ensuring production of satisfactory documentation; developing implementation and contingency plans whilst managing project risks; overseeing budgets and reporting project progress including attendance at programme and other appropriate boards.

You must possess previous experience of project management with a demonstrable record of achievement coupled with knowledge of change methodologies; effective written and verbal communication skills, leadership and influential skills.
