A client within the Public Sector based in South Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the public sector within a planning environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to ensure compliance with the legislation and statutory obligations of the Council dealing effectively with breaches and alleged breaches of planning control.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure the statutory obligations of the Council in dealing with breaches of planning control as laid down in the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and other relevant legislation are acted upon.
- Assess, monitor, prioritise and review breaches of planning control cases to ensure that the most effective interventions are employed to implement solutions and proficiently resolve cases in response to requests for service in accordance with approved escalation policies
- Ensure the planning enforcement register is maintained, up-to-date and available electronically to the public in accordance with statutory requirements and relevant legislation.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a relevant Level 4 qualification as well as experience of working within an enforcement or planning profession.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Good knowledge and understanding of the application of relevant legislation, guidance and policies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and case management systems.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 p/h Umbrella Ltd. inside IR 35.
